My shop gets used for family gatherings. I have a 4 post drive-on hoist that becomes the Buffet Table. :)

I like your shop! You've probably said before but i forgot, what size is your shop?

They'd BOTH have to fold upward to drop the shelf, so you get more safety via statistical un-probability. But if a cart rolled up against one supports one time and knocked it overcenter (and it stayed, unnoticed), then later the other one is bumped up overcenter. But it's probably down most of the time, right? Could be a real pincher (or shear) if someone had fingers around the shelf frame trying to stop it.

You are a lucky man that the family wants to gather at your place. You're lucky to have a nice shop, and I always say anyone who has a life that requires a tractor is lucky. But the family gathering is solid evidence that you made (at least some) good life choices! That's a luxury I don't have (but I ain't dead yet).

Thank you Sodo. I am truly Blessed in regards to my family. A group of locals around here come to my farm a dozen times a year where we 4-wheel. It's evolved into a homemade Buggy fest. That same group comes to the shop for Christmas where we have a gift grab bag gig. I am Blessed with a very good life.

Good friend of mine is coming tomorrow from Iowa. We'll spend the next 4 days building an exo-cage on his Cherokee. Good times. :)

Thanks for the compliment. It's a 42x50. As long as I park stuff in the machine shed at the farm I have plenty of space. Before I got it done my shop was cramped in the Winter. I'd hafta move stuff outside to work in it.

"I have a 4 post drive-on hoist that becomes the Buffet Table"

Now we're thinkin' outside the box - why "hoist a glass" when you can hoist the whole dang MEAL??!? :D

(That scenario wouldn't work for me - I have too many relatives that should NEVER be allowed to be that close to tools, especially MINE )...Steve

That's funny!!!

My good friend coming tomorrow is that tool guy. For several days after he goes home I'll be looking for tools. You know how little things can get under your skin?? Well the bad habit that Don has is SLAMMING the tool chest drawers. Hard enough that tools will sometimes go over the back of the drawer. Next worst habit is leaving the drawers open. I've even caught him using an open drawer as a workbench!!!!!

But I love him like a Brother so I try to teach him. It's a long process. :)

Yep my best friend is about the same way, to the point we joke about it all the time. But l wouldn't have it any other way, I won't let just anyone around my tools or vehicles, specially the jeep or race cars.

I guess that's why we have them around. We'd still be dragging our knuckles without em. :) About once a year my wife brings me the pile of my T-shirts for culling to the shop rag pile. I'll wear a T-shirt until it won't hang on my shoulders any longer without adult supervision...... :)

Oh that's when they feel best. And they still make good rags haha. My wife was having trouble cleaning her glasses once and I told her to give them to me. I blew on them and wiped them down with a clean t and she thought I was hurting her glasses until she seen How clean they were. Now she is always in my t shirt drawer haha.

Now, now, the pooch might have its feeling hurt if he went out without being color coordinated. A lot of women are real picky about things like that.:)

Well mine doesn't care how I dress and it surprised me that she said that. Heck I just got what worked haha
