WITH shrink tube you always start in the middle and work yer way out!!!!SON GIT AHEAD OF YERSELF BY TRING TO HEAT THE WHOLE TUBE AT ONCE!!!..work from both sides and allow the tube to start melting ...and shrinking from the center out!!!
not too much heat either ..you can melt this stuff in half really easy...take your time working from side to side and once shrunk in the middle pick an end and hit it gently feathering from center out..once that side is shrunk up grab the other side (no not with yer hands silly /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif) and feather that one out too....then once thats done hit the whole thing till the plastic starts coming out of the ends!!!back and forth top to bottom being careful not to catch the thing on fire....better to take your time then cook it too much and then have to cut and resplice so that u can git another piece of shrink tube on

gently hittin the wole thing till the liquid plastic come out of the ends....look close at the right hand side and u can see it

be really careful on the ends as the coating on the wire itself is very sensitive to heat and if u melt it yer startin all over

So, I am assuming that the shrink wrap is to give you a water tight seal. So that brings up a question. Am I right in assuming that any nick or cut in the wires will lead to grounding out the circuit? (assuming the nick or cut ends up being below static water level).
If I am right, then how in the heck do you slowly lower this pump 160 plus feet into a metal sided well casing while at the same time not kinking your black pastic water tubing nor nicking any of the wires? Seems like a job for at least six arms and three sets of eyes.
Am I right or am I over thinking this?
