According to this picture if cover with start capacitor and relay "slip" connects with wired terminals and with what appears to be check valve below pressure switch, all you are missing is L1/L2 (from fuse/circuit breaker) routed through pressure switch to pump control box....

ok now that's done, let's hear from everyone who only reads the first post and then answers some un-asked question incorrectly for the next four pages and weeks...

Sorry WinterDeere, responded to your post before finishing the thread and caught your correction.

It actually wasn't a mistake, but rather a failure to remember that styles have changed over time.

While it seems most well controllers have the cap and relay in the lid now, probably so that unawaware DIY'ers aren't sticking their hands into a box with a capacitor that may be holding a charge as high as 340 VDC, older ones mostly had these components in the box itself, not the lid. I'm more used to seeing that older style, as I own and mostly work on older homes.

Bonus points for anyone who can figure out why a capacitor on a 240 VAC circuit may be charged as high as 340 VDC. :p

I have in my possession a 1968 Franklin control box with the guts in the cover. You must have some really old stuff where you are.

Maybe! It can be tough to tell the age of a box mounted to a wall in a basement utility room. I wonder though if Franklin was just the first to switch to this style, before some of the others.
