Not sure what they mean by Tstat - is there one on the evap or in the cabin for the HVAC? Obviously it is not the engine Tstat...
I think what they mean is the control (knob in the cab) to adjust the amount of cooling and heating. Left half of the scale is for cooling and right half is for heating. The control has click/detents to hold it in position when adjusted. There is a lot of info in the shop manual and I didn't get to read near all of it. I was focusing more on A/C temperature and pressure info. My Kubota shop manual should be here by next Tuesday.

While you have the roof off, Is there any insulation on the inside of the roof?
KennyV
No, there is no insulation under the roof but I run mine with the temp control on medium-high and the fan on low and it stays plenty cool. I have never had to run it on max cool and the fan is always on lowest setting. This Kubota M8200 A/C and heating system is better than the one in my 2009 GMC Sierra when it is working properly. A mobile service tech is coming tomorrow morning to fix it so I hope it is working this time tomorrow.

....... sure think all indications are not the correct amount of air flow through the condenser... Will be interesting to see what you find out.
KennyV

Removed the top half of the enclosure where the evaporator is located and did not see any debris/clogging. So, I can cross that possibility off the list.

Condenser's up top ?, would of thought they would of stuck it in front of the radiator.

Unless you meant 'evaporator' ?

You are right. I should have said evaporator not condenser. (will edit - thanks).

Check the drain hose on the unit as well, i had to pull my roof to reattach it, as it vibrated loose and the unit was draining into the cab.

Good idea.....Will do.

I stuck a sheet of the foil backed bubble wrap against the underside... After doing that I can run on Low or medium cool and it gets very cold inside the cab, have not used hi setting except when first starting out, made a huge difference. You might consider doing the same after you get your problem figured out... KennyV

I may do the same to mine. Where did you get the foil backed bubble wrap?

Where did you get the foil backed bubble wrap?

Home Depot Lowes or about any well stocked lumber supply... The stuff first came out for hotRod builders and then I started seeing it at building supplies. Comes on a roll about 24" or 36" wide... Sticky adhesive spray sticks it on... KennyV

The mobile A/C tech was here today to work on the problem. First he set the refrigerant level to what it should be -- there was too much R134a in the system as suspected. The A/C then ran for about one hour w/o failing so took it for a spin across the hay field with the 3008 Bush Hog running. The compressor stopped within 5 mins. Removed the roof again and the Tech started looking for bad electrical connections. He unplugged and plugged connectors and pulled on wires. When he jiggled what I believe to be the temperature switch the clutch engaged. After replugging those wires the A/C ran as it should for about 20 mins. So, went into the hay field again with Bush Hog running and ran for about 2 hrs w/o failure.

So, it appears the cause of the problem was a poor electrical connection on the temperature switch but won't know for sure until more hrs are logged. The tech hinted at replacing this switch if another failure occurs.

Again, my thanks to all who responded and contributed to helping out.

Right on

Fingers are crossed that that was all it was.
