I run Wix and Baldwin filters on what I have.
Today, I cut up the used OEM oil filters for my autos. The Toyota filter was very well built and had a really nice looking supply of paper inside, with two metal end caps on the element..The Hyundai filter was heavier metal cased, also had a very nice looking element inside with metal caps and a metal relief valve. I did not see any plastic parts inside. I do believe that I can safely run these filters to their 7500 mile markers with no problems..
The pressure valve internal on a fram are junk, some cardboard ones are still around that had many failures, The filters that wal-mart sells are made by purolator filters and are the best bang for your buck, look it up on google. $1.97 filter that sells for $7.99 with a differnt logo. Short of buying Royal purple or Amsoil, the best oil for the money is Rotella T but you will mostly find it in 5w-40 but still has a higher shear rating than most. Rotella is the largest volume of oil sold in this country due to a large amount of trucking companys using it, full synthetic at wally world is $19.97 for a gallon. But i run Mobil 1, Amsoil, Rotella, Valvoline, Motorcraft 5W-20 in my motorhome. all great choices, one to avoid, because of high detergent is Pennzoil. Unless you change very often. Or you enjoy sludge.
I remember seeing a Toyota filter cut away at the dealer years ago. The display said they had more surface area than the standard filter design. They look like nice filters and I think they reduced the size because of the more efficient design. It's too bad the dealer is too far away otherwise I might use them instead of the bargain ones.
