What did you buy this week?

I just bought one of these last week. Haven't had a chance to spark it up yet. Figured I'd better get one before the 2 stroke police outlaw them and n California.
Problem I'm seeing now in CA > try to buy a carburetor or fuel pump for yard equipment and they say can't ship to CA just like an extended magazine, WTF ?

Ran into that myself… it’s not only paints, pesticide, generators, outdoor power equipment but now it’s the parts being targeted…

California’s loss is a boon to Carson City and Reno business…

Be careful running illegal parts across state lines. They will have dogs trained to sniff out the parts.

Everytime I see a fresh restored muscle or classic car I ask where did you buy the paint and it's always a souvenir brought back from vacation.

I did bring home a gas can once...

Weeks been a doozy, almost $500 for hydraulic hoses, $350 for a spin trim, and today the electric PTO clutch failed on the JD X 500 Riding mower quit all at once, almost like the lining just came off, local JD dealer will have the HD clutch tomorrow but I had to pay a bit extra.

Not really complaining, It is the best rider mower we have owned and at 900 hours probably not unusual to need replaced.

When it comes to cars, my wife and I have always had a pair and a spare, but now we have an extra sitting next to the garage. And almost enough parts to build two 71 Toyota LandCruisers. And a motorcycle. Yeesh. 😁

Oh, I can relate, especially to the "pair" part.

We have one each Ram 3500, Challenger, Challenger GT, Ram 1500, Can-Am, and HiJet. Then I have other vehicles, and so does she.

Just sold my Jeep and some $8K in various parts, but still have enough left to build another one.

Now maybe it makes more sense why I really shouldn't buy yet another car. I'm already buried in maintenance.

I bought a $16 bottle of K-seal from Advance auto on my drive home from work yesterday. My 2005 John Deere 4120 tractor was starting to loose a little coolant and I feared the dreaded “timing cover” sealant leak. A “proper” repair of that, at the dealer, would likely cost in the neighborhood of $ 6k in today’s dollars.

So far, after roughly 10 operating hours, it seems to be doing the trick. Not sure what I’ll do with the $ 5984 that I saved on the repair. Maybe an Alaska vacation.
