What did you do on the first day of retirement?

^^^My retired Commander Military friend and his wife almost didn't survive the first year of his Navy retirement... she was use to him being deployed and managed nicely with what she had..

She had to remind him she was in command of the home front...

Anyway... he built his shop with her blessings and it saved their marriage... they both say that. He was restoring cars and the shop was his domain... and hers the house... still remember her calling down from the deck... "Father, supper will be ready in 15 minutes"

As long as they had clear boundaries and each had their space things were good...

Yes, both need their own defined space and some distance at times. I can't shutup during my wife's tv shows, this irritates her so I frequently head out to the garage for an hour or two.

Give your job your best but at quitting time you are done. You are not as indispensable as you may think so don't get "Used" to the detriment of family.

I learned that the hard way. Nose to the grindstone for 20 years. Dull nose. The only good side is that I was so busy I saved boatloads of money. No vacations, no fun at the time but now it is different.

I do not shop Amazon, is it is stores? I always use EVOO and might as well have the best.

In the United States MANY brands that advertise as EVOO only use a small portion of EVOO. I buy the California Olive Ranch Brand EVOO in the stores for everyday use since they use 100% EVOO (as I understand). But I would like to try Rox”s. What is the brand name?

First wife spent money like a drunken sailor. Last wife got my finances all straightened out and put me on the straight and narrow. Completely debt free prior to retirement.

I just thought of what I want to do on my first day of retirement (a number of years away but what the heck). I want to take a cooking class. A series of cooking classes. I like to cook but have never had any formal training. THAT is what I want to do on my first day of retirement.
