Oh man Lou, I was cringing when reading your post. I thought for sure it was going to be a window.

Where did you find the P/N for the hinges, and where are you ordering them from? Your local dealer?

Not much of a task really, but used mine yesterday as a lawnmower "ambulance" when my riding mower died behind the house.

Used it to carry the rider around into the garage to "fix".

Turned out it was just a stuck carb linkage, but had to take the engine cover off to see it.

I have a 3 point post hole digger that if I lift all the way will surely break the rear window if it is open. Haven't done it yet, but like K5, it is an expensive accident just waiting to happen.

I have the parts catalog in a pdf for the 8050 and looked up the parts number and gave them to the parts guy at my local dealer. They should be here in 10 days to 2 weeks a bit over $40 for the two little straps, but not knowing how much of an offset they had originally straightening them would be guessing game. I may straighten the originals when I have the new ones to have as spares, so I'll never need them again.

Picked up a set of 6600 # Express Steel pallet forks Wednesday.
Took my new pallet forks out for a spin today and used them as a barb wire roll carrier.

I rigged up spool carrier for the 3ph that I use for a variety of unrolling tasks. Most commonly I spool out single-strand or dual-strand fence wire, though I've also used it for electrical wire (in this case, 500' of 4/0 when I put in a ground mount solar array) -

basically it's a piece of pipe with hitch pins welded to the end, and a couple pieces of PVC pipe as bushings for spacers. I have a smaller version which is basically just a wood dowel with holes in the ends that I use for smaller spools

Well I got a quote for a replacement roof and it is just under $2,100. Guess it could be worse but certainly could be better. :ROFLMAO:

I am going for a repair of sorts and redesigning the mounts for the light bar. The more I think about it, that is a bad place to mount because it creates a good amount of leverage on that bolt. I am sure there are other roofs out there that have or will have the same crack if they have the factory light bar.

It will be a few weeks but I will post what I come up with.
Well I got the mounts redesigned to use the factory light mounts. Just added a some angle iron to the light bar mount and cut the ear off that was mounted to the roof bolt. It is solid and I managed to keep the light location the same. Sure would have been nice if they would have done that in the first place.

Still need to fix the cracks but this should help keep them from spreading while I come up with a good plan.

Well I'm looking for the leak in my AC system, put a can of dye in it the other day and still no luck.

Cleaned the radiator screen... Sorta wish it pulled from the side like others. You have to remove the air intake tube above it and the radiator overflow hose that is routed over it... Blew the whole thing off with a blower too, as it was a little dusty tilling the new field one last time last night. Seeding today.
Total tractor time 13 hours. A guy wanted to charge me $800 to till an acre... I've had to work it 4x to get a nice seedbed... And I'll have to till the crop in this fall. So, I just saved $4000... Minus $45 in fuel.

Used mine yesterday to clean out the bottom of my riding mower deck.

I hate doing it, but at least sitting on the forks, I can get to it.

I usually flip mine over on the ground to get at it but it's messier, this looks better. Besides, less likely to smash one of the spindle zerks...

I decided to upgrade the sound system to something a lot better than the useless one that came in the tractor. I had to modify the mount to get the receiver installed. Then I had to modify the old faceplate because the one that came with the new radio did not cover the screws.

The speakers were no issues other than the covers do not cover the Blind nuts completely but does not look too bad.

I mounted the microphone for the hands free calling in the center by the front window. Used double sided tape so no drilling needed.

Removing the roof was a lot easier with the way the light bar is mounted now. It can stay bolted up now.

It sounds really good now and the hands free calling works great. Could not use it at all before. The person on the other end could not hear anything but noise. Now they can hear me no problem and can’t hear the tractor running at PTO speed at all.

Here I thought you were upgrading the engine until I realized you have a cab with a stereo

I too hate the OEM radio and speaks that come with mine... Terrible sound! Oh wait! I have no cab!

The sad thing is I don’t even listen to the stereo in my truck. I really only needed the hands free phone because I always get work calls and don’t like having to stop to talk to them. But I decided to make it as good as I could because my boys will listen to it when I am gone.

I did a bit of mowing with the rotary. There's not much chaff as there is still a lot of moisture but there are a lot of dandelion seeds floating around. Barely needed to blow the radiator screen but the keffiyeh is still useful in keeping dust, seeds and bugs off my face.

Very smart! I've got one tucked away in storage; I never did learn how to wear it properly.

I did a lot of mowing this year with a 3m respirator on my face. With all the rain there was a lot of pollen and it was really triggering my allergies. The respirator is not as comfortable as not wearing it, but it's better than sneezing for the rest of the day.

I did some mowing with the rotary today as well, of a thick infestation of french broom near some utility poles I managed to find a telephone wire that a lineman discarded. It wasn't too hard to unwrap from the mower.
