Yesterday with over 18" of new wet snow on the ground, I finally got to try out my UHMW lined snowblower discharger chute modification.
I did not have any problems with the chute clogging up and noticed that there was hardly any snow build up inside of the chute.
However, I had to trim some UHMW from the bottom of the transition chute where the blades come very close (1/4" gap originally) to it.
I had installed my blind pop rivets about 1" from the bottom edge and the snow/ice appeared to get underneath the UHMW and raise it enough to have contact with the rotating fan blades.
Now this area has about a 1/2" gap between the parts.
F.Y.I. on how wet/heavy this snowfall was:
One nearby neighbor with a new Kubota
B2601 w/ front snowblower had his discharge chute (8" x 10" discharge chute) completely clog up once, then he removed the front wire grate and then the discharge chute clogged again.
Another nearby neighbor with an older Kubota
BX23 w/ front snowblower like my MF 2360 had his discharge chute clog up so fast and so many times, he gave up snowblower and called a snow removal contractor to clear his driveway.
