Hey, those of you with the backhoe, can you show me how you fold up and stow the 3 pt stuff and how do you route the hydro lines when the backhoe is off?

I had the lift arms removed before coz I never used them, so I had nothing to deal with back there. But I just no reinstalled them to use a 3pt dethatcher, and it's confusion city for me.

To stow:
1) Lift the 3pt all the way up
2) unpin the lower arms from the lift arms
3) lift arms should settle to the outside of the pto shield
4) using Bungie that came with the tractor, the lower arms fold into the notch cutouts on the PTO shield with the bungie hooked into the holes on the "Y" shape in the frame

Hydro lines when in 3pt mode isn't awesome. They run right out into the party zone which is annoying. I use to use a bungie them to the toplink with a non-rigid Bungie before I complete modified that space. Be mindful of where they are vs PTO shafts and lift arms so as not to damage them but ultimately there is no perfect answer as is.

Yeh, that's kinda what I did, working from memory from when I first got the tractor. But I removed the pto shield since then, I guess I should put it back on. My one issue now is that the left upper arm is now kind of dangling right against the hydro fluid sight glass, I'm worried it would bang into it and shatter it sometime...I suppose the pto shield protect that from happening. But everything is so janky folded up like that, and I hate how the hoses are routed. I wish I could make that all look cleaner.

just a note, sometimes with 3pt all the way up its very hard to remove pins. I usually drop all the way down, remove pins, then lift all the way up (to get actual 3pt lift out of the way) and stow stuff.

I built a mounting plate and redid all the hoses to bring everything outside of the 3pt/PTO area. It was quite the project but well worth the time for piece of mind

Yeh, I saw you post that before. I love your manifold! But are you worried it being so close to the wheel?

This is how I did it for now. I'm not crazy about it, coz it swing back and forth a little bit back there while driving. Sorry pix are at funny angle, I got the tractor backed up against my garage wall.

No, not worried at all. This is actually the 2nd version of this solution I've made. Immediately behind the manifold the lines turn at 90 degrees towards the machine and then turn again and run parallel to the tire. I've also sleeved all the lines with heavy nylon hose protectors to keep mud and debris off of them.

Mine's an older 2310, but here's what I do -- a piece of EMT through the BH amounting holes and a couple of bungees. Keeps things from rattling and the third hose is held up & out of the way with a piece of #12 copper wire. I ensure that the hose connection on the rt side is clear of 3PH arms moving up & down.

So you remove the upper lift arms, looks like. I've seen this pic before, and I must say I really like your idea with the pipe through the backhoe mount, upper arms resting on that and then bungeed *against* it. That's a smart idea, I like it a lot.

Cglaser, can you take a pic sometime, showing another angle? I would like to do something similar.

Gene, the reason I do that is to get those two arms out of the way of 3PH moving parts, getting them further to the left & right -- I do lot of mowing with the MMM, so those arms are going up & down a lot.

If I use the OEM bungee and pull the arms/links up against the rear at the top (which I will do when installing the BH), the short 3PH lifting arms moving up & down don't have enough clearance to not hit stuff, I feel.

The way I have it set up, there's plenty of room for the arms to do their traveling up & down without rubbing against anything (esp. hoses).

Removing the top arms is the biggest pain, to be honest. If you're already there, removing the bottom ones is real easy, actually. You just remove the pin holding that center plate, pop that off. And then you only got one screw on the side holding the rod in place on which the lower arms hinge on. You don't have to remove the rod entirely, just slide it out a little, and then you slide the lower arms off it. The whole process is a 1 minute job.

Well keeping with the spirit of this thread, what I did today was bring some dirt in, then did whole bunch of ratchet raking, getting all this stuff ready for seed. Just made it before the rain came through. Man, I do love that ratchet rake, gotta say.
