They are lying when they say you never have to stop at rotaries (in the video). Most of the rotaries around here are one lane and if there is a car (or a whole bunch of cars) in the rotary, you have to stop and wait for them to clear, just like an intersection (unless you want to take a chance on getting hit).

I am happy for the people that like them, because they probably aren't going to stop building them anytime soon....

Not sure if he was lying intentionally but it is true that you have to stop occasionally but its usually rare and usually not for very long. They are installing more and more of them around here and in every single case it has improved traffic flow. This is one thing that Europe has done right that Im glad we are adopting here.

Even if your vehicle combination doesn't fit between the curbs?

The tight ones are left flat in the middle on purpose to allow semi trailers to use them easily although I’ve never seen anything needing to do that around here.

Haven't seen one like that yet.

Then again, thankfully I don't come across them often.

Agree that some of the newer ones are a bit on the small side, mostly in residential areas where large vehicles or trailers other than utility trailers aren't commonly driven. As kozal01 noted, most of these have a flat inner ring to (mostly) accommodate that.

Yesterday, I passed going the opposite direction of a 3500 long bed crew cab pulling a 30+ foot triple axle boat trailer, on a road that has a circle every 2-3 miles. Wished I had seen him do the rotary, but since these are all 2-3 lanes, I’m guessing he just hogged two lanes in going around.

I have a huge dislike for red lights! They should have never been invented. Roundabouts are great in my opinion. I would rather have nothing over a red light! People would eventually figure it out. :ROFLMAO:

I will have to admit, there is some sport in trying to clip the apexes of the rotaries to see how fast I can negotiate them. I'm usually up on the roll curbs at all points....

So, today I ended up in a busy rotary with another pickup towing a 24’ish ft boat on a tandem axle trailer. He took up two lanes going around, and everyone just kinda naturally slid aside to make room for him. Really wasn’t as big an issue as one might imagine.
