Box Scraper What to buy?

   / What to buy? #11
How long is the road that you need to maintain? I am in agreement with the guys that like a 66" box. Sticks out a little past the tires, but not to big like a 72" box might be although teg seems to be happy with his 72" box. I am a big proponent of remote valves. If it were me I would be thinking 3 rear remotes. 2 for top and tilt cylinders that would help you with your grading immensely and the 3rd for hydraulic actuated rippers on a box blade or for an angle cylinder on a rear blade and or rake. I would think that with the road how I imagine it, you will be waaaaaaay better off with a few different implements rather than just one to do it all.

The reason that I ask about the length is that if it is very long, then I highly recommend a land plane road grader type of blade to do the more common maintenance. Gordon Gould made his grader blade and is very happy with it. I have a couple of them and am extremely happy with mine. Can't imagine maintaining my roads without one, but then I am one who likes to get things done the easiest way that I can. ;)
