It is very good to spray on light coats to such as blades on disk, box blades and so forth to prevent rust when shinny from use. Also best place I have found to store a pto pump in 5 gallon bucket of use oil. Have chain on my pumps I just drop over the top of the bucket. Oil on stumps can be interesting, you soak wood in oil to prevent or slow rot but then put in stumps but burning them.
Boy do I understand the benefit of storing chains in oil but while I don't like rusty chains sure don't want to have wet oily chains to work with. For the person who does this do you keep them in the oil or do you pull them out after a dip to have excess drip off?
