Same guy delivered mine to Maryland. My only complaint was that he ran a chain over the middle & chewed up some paint. I've covered the damage with grease & dirt. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
Call PT and they will check various shipping options and costs and quote them for you.

We have a standing below prime home equity loan(costs us almost nothing and saves on mortgage exemption taxes) so we use that for most big purchases.

I ordered it on a Friday, and it arrived in South Bend, IN on Tuesday. The unit was shipped with the 60" finish mower attached, the 48" brush hog on a skid, and the 7 foot loading ramps, small bucket with teeth, large light material bucket, pallet forks, spare mower blades and spare quick attach plate on a second skid. The unit started right up at the trucking company, and I used it to load some of the implements into a friend’s full size pickup truck and then drove it up the ramps that we purchased into my pickup truck with the big bucket attached and the little bucket nested inside. Unloaded it at our home in the reverse order. Whole process from pickup to drop off took about an hour.

If you go the pickup truck route, be sure to remove your tailgate and find a way to secure the ramps to the truck so they can't slip. Also, find a berm to lessen the angle of the ramps, as it is steep up those ramps on level ground(pucker factor).

I had the same chain marks on mine.

We also didn't have to pay sales tax and that covered the shipping to Indiana, so it was a wash.

Thanks for the replys I called power trac today and asked for a quote of the 425 with shipping I am waiting for a response has anyone bought one of these tractors with a lease to buy option I don't know if this if an advantage to me. I called up two loan reps that power trac has recommended. I found out that once you sigh the paper you half to pay the full amount of the contract. You can't like a conventional loan shop for a better rate and pay it off if you pay it off early you still pay the full amount. They tell me it is an tax advangtage. I am just looking for a decent interest rate. I don't really want to take any equity out of my home I am just paying off a lot of debts. And suggestions where you can use the tractor for collataral like a car and get a decent loan ? I was thinking of selling my motorcycle and maby a fiew other things but they have just been payed off. Thanks David

I called power trac to get a shipping quote for the 425 they also informed me that they have no more 425's at this time and that it will be a couple of months. They gave me a quote to send the tractor with two buckets the backhoe attachment extra plate 5 turf and 5 bar tires. about 1,250 dollars. All the way to southern california. Sounds pretty fair to me.[ I think the shipping quote is good for 45 days ] they said that It probably would be about the same in a couple of months. I think I will also wait for the 425. They said they would send me a complete quote and a tenative production date for the 425 David /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

David,
That shipping price is very good considering the distance.
Now the dilemma, should I order now or wait a few months? Do they require full payment to be put on the order schedule?
When summer is over I assume the back order should be cleared up.

1250 sounds like a good price for shipping that much weight. Are you saving anything in sales tax?

When I called yesterday to order a 425 Scott said nothing about a down payment. Now you have me wondering....

I have not made a down paynent on a tractor and they are not reserving one for me. They did say they would let me know approximate date when next pt 425's will be finishes.
I wanted to tell everyone that I am also seriously looking at a kubota bx22. I am even looking at the Mahindra 2810. I am inpressed with the lovality and self sufficient can do attitude of the pt owners. I may feel more comefortable buying a kubota bx 22 from my local dealer. I am somewhat confused I have lookes at so many tractors and researched so many tractor features. that I am having trouble narrowing down which tractor to buy If I had money to burn I would buy a
pt-425
Catipillar skid steer 40 hp class
kuboda bx22
a struck crawler 30 hp diesel
and a terramite TE 7
and I would play all day in the dirt with all of the attachments and find out which model did what job best. I would be in heaven. I would even buy and sell tractors as I got tired of them. BUT I DON'T HAVE THAT MUCH LAND OR MONEY. buy hey what the hell I can still dream cant I !
Still undecided David Thanks. for the replys.

The fun part is the looking and the hard part is the deciding /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Whatever you get, make sure it fits your needs. All of the tractors that you are looking at are great machines. No matter which machine you finally decide on, you won't regret your decision if you took your time and did your research.

I've spoken to may folks that expected the machine they bought to either be able to do more, or is too big to do the little stuff. Some folks suggest buying two tractors. That's great if you have the time, money and a place to maintain both. We bought a used large tractor to do our initial heavy work, then downsized to the PT425. The big tractor will be sold. If we need a larger machine again, we'll either rent it or hire out, or just do it a little slower with the smaller machine. The BX2200, TC21, JD4100(or whatever it is now) and that size tractor are all good machines for homeowners and small estates if you aren't planning on doing any agricutural ground breaking type jobs. Take your time and be comfortable with your decision.

thanks for the advice. I have really enjoyed talking on tractor by net in all of the forums. I do not really need to buy a tractor but, I really want to buy a tractor and I am sure I can find a lot of uses for it once it arrived at my home. I don't know If I can wait for a couple of months to buy the pt425.
I could work with a lawn mower a shovel a piick a wheel barrol occasoinal rental piece of equipment. Well actually maby I do really need a tractor for my soul for my therapy for my piece of mind ,so I don't loose my mind to spend a couple of hours a day by myself without lifes cares. To avoid some honey do items. to spend less time argueing with my spouse.
To play in the dirt. To be a kid again with the only tractor on the block that everyone wants to play with. To improve my property. To etc.... the possibilities are endless just like the attachments for a power trac.!!
