What's a fair price for a Kubota L47 TLB that sat on the dealer lot for 3 years?

I suspect that cash actually WILL have some meaning in this particular case, for a 3 year old "new" tractor.
How long will the dealer want to keep holding on, holding on?

Ricky B is right, it wont matter. money is money these days. Dealer would rather see you finance anyways. Cash only matters these days in private sales, dealers could care less.

whats odd is you see this stuff quite often, thing sits and dealers wont budget much, seen it on cars and trucks too. I think the issue is must be something with dealer unable to go under certain prices because of the manufacture. I know with car dealers actually take loans kind of from the factories on cars, and theres a whole big contorted way on how things get paid out. On the flip side though on a snowmobile you can get a leftover for like 20-30% off. That or the dealer simply doesnt want to take a loss.

Assume then, that cash or credit really does not matter in the overall picture!
What REALLY does matter, is what the dealer will sell it for, and how much longer he is willing to let it sit and rot away.
Only the dealer knows the answer to those questions.

That could be true, but does cash or credit really matter in the big picture?

No and thats what were saying. Cash, check, credit, loan, 90% of dealers out there could care less. money is money, like I said most dealers would rather have you on loan anyways for multiple reasons. One most dealers get points or kick backs for loans. Second if they got you on loan they have power when you come back and want to trade up.

Other than OEM finance, 3 rd party finance usually offers a kickback (commission) of some sort hence many dealers really don't want cash.

Thatç—´ over 10k more than I paid for my 500 hour M59 and mine had 3rd function hydraulics, hydraulic thumb, and 3 rear remotes.

Sounds high to me also. I purchased n M59 three years ago with 130 hrs, with thumb, front aux hydraulics, 3 remotes for 45k. I've never owned an L45 or 47 but I do have an L39 (same frame size) and there is no comparison between the tractors.

From my viewpoint, if the dealer refused to discount for cash,...more power to him.
He has already sat on the TLB for three years.
Perhaps he really enjoys having a lawn ornament sitting on his lot.
Absent a substantial cash discount, for a now 3 year old machine, I would look elsewhere, thus giving the dealer the opportunity to sit on it for as long as he might choose.
Remember: If you bought it, and then decided you did not like it......how the He11 would YOU sell it?
You would likely take a HUGE bath!

They offered me that unit as well and never mentioned anything about starting it once a month. Are they plugging in the engine heaters and pre-heating all those tractors before they move them every month? Or, are they starting them cold at -40F? Did they go through the extra expense of changing out the fluids to synthetics? I would never run conventional oils in equipment that operates at our winter temps. unless it sits in a heated shop. Is it equipped with just a block heater? Does it also have engine oil and transmission fluid pan heaters? How long did it sit before it arrived in AK? The price appears very high to me, but good luck with your decision.

I too do not believe the BS that it was run every month.
However: In 3 years that would mean 36 starts, for a total of 8.3 MINUTES run time for each start.
Those short runs are likely worse than no starts at all.

Yep. Does running it for very short times at -30F to -40F get it up to operating temps before moving it?
