When was TBN started?

Yes but posts weren't wiped out, only subscribed threads. I think.

OK, good point. When I look at my post history it takes me back to 2004, showing only 5,000 of my ~7,000 posts. Not a biggie but as I will be spending more time at home in the coming weeks, thought I might do some reminiscing!

I used to post a lot more because we used to have a lot more issues. So I always was making "Here's what went wrong, here's what we fixed, keep an eye out!" posts and, for the most part, we got through it.

We used to have dial-up at home when we first started up in New York. VERY Fortunately for us, our office had cable modem access, which was all but unheard of back in the 90s.

We really do appreciate your thanks and kind words. We're really proud of TBN and the community that has stayed healthy and helpful for so many people!

If you missed it, we put together this feature celebrating TBN's 20 years online

I notice that numerous other forums use the same software, but they do not seem to handle photo posting, and some other features as well. Good job keeping TBN working well.

I have a Q: is this a full-time job for you and Muhammed, or do you have other businesses and/or jobs? I see that TBN does have employees.

This has been one of the best sites for me since I found it. Invaluable advice, seemingly lots of digital contacts (for all I know all the other postings are by robot:) )

March 21, 1998. I was a 14 year old home schooled high schooler and did indeed start the site from my bedroom.<snip>

It's just amazing what a 14 year old male will do in his bedroom when left alone!

Yeah! I even remember seeing your dealership when I was a kid! I should take a trip back up there next time I'm in NY.

My how time flies. Looks like I joined Sept 2000, and at the time didn't think at all about how early I was to join. I've had long spans of no involvement, but keep coming back.

Muhammed, congrats to you and your brother for creating such a lasting site.

2004 for me and I thought that was a long time ago!

Great thread! I'm really enjoying some TBN history and getting to learn a little about Muhammad and Ibrahim. I have been a member of a handful of forums over the years for hobby and/or DIY reasons. Shortly after I joined TBN, I was surprised and honored to be named Member of the Month. I didn't feel worthy.

TBN is the only place that I have stuck with, and contributed (I suppose that could be debated ). I've learned a lot and have made some friends here that I would enjoy meeting if the opportunity presented itself. I have met a few in person and that has been quite a pleasure as well!

What a great place to learn, laugh, poke fun, and have passionate debates!

Great stuff Muhammad and Ibrahim! Thank you very much!!!

I concur. I admit, I was like why is a dude named Muhammad admin'ing a tractor site? I thought it was just some sort of money maker thing for you. But now I learned that nope, it's coz you're into tractors! Legit! I like this site a lot, I come here every day now just to see if anybody has something cool to post or report, and somebody usually does. I picked up quite a bit of very useful info from here during my [as of yet] short stay here, hopefully I contributed something somebody found useful as well.

Thanks very much for this awesome site! :cool2:

This site was responsible for getting me REALLY frustrated years ago.....

I came here... need to sign on....ok.... Name:.....

As the internet was new & budding, I found myself going to several other sites.

Need to sign on.... ok.... Name: Dang it.... Richard is taken... how about Richard 1?? taken. How on earth is my name already taken???

Of course, there is more than one Richard in the world but, if your narcissistic.... you get frustrated!

Soon after trying multiple variations.... I was trying to think of something that might not be taken already and I realized I lived on a somewhat unique road.... so have adopted its name over the decades.... and never had an issue since.

Not sure if I was 14 yet....but I remember drilling holes in my bedroom wall with a screwdriver at one point... Mom wasn't too happy about that when she found it.

Lol, I was once accused of something like that.

Interesting to see ronhall was one of the early Birds on tbn (pun intended)

So how did you get the username "Richard" now?

I joined 4 years after buying my first tractor... a Kubota, of course. While I didn't have the TBN Wiki I did have my father, who forgot more about tractors than I will ever learn. The first thing that he said when I told him I was shopping was "Make sure that it has a loader."

When I bought my second tractor he was gone and I had taken a hiatus from this site. Somehow I muddled through it and didn't get stung too badly. :D
