Where Do You Store Your Tractor?

Both of mine are parked in the garage. My $30K truck sits outside. I have a 4 car garage and the only car that parks inside is my wifes. The rest is workshop and tractors and a few attachments. I'm hoping to build another 2 - 3 stall garage this summer, then everything will be parked under cover.

I have a Board and banton barn style shed that was built to store my tractor and implements. The shed is 14 feet by 32 feet long. I had 2 swing doors on the front that are taller than the foldable ROPS of the B2410 that I owned. Also had the wood floor reinforced with extra lumber to support all the weight of the equipment. This shed was built by Eberly barns from Lancaster county, PA and delivered to my site by a special tilting trailer pulled by a dually pickup truck. The width was the restriction for towing on the highway but length could have been even up to 50 feet or more as I recall. I love this barn and theoreticlly can move it to another site if needed. I like that I don't have to fold down the tractor ROPS and can still use dollies for moving implements easily on the wood floor.

I park mine in a 30x40 pole barn. If I get too many more attachments (TOYS) as my wife would call them some may have to set outside. Unless I can talk my wife into building on.

My tractor and implements are always stored in a tobacco barn after I am done using them. Someone stated in this post that they left their tractors out in the weather, because all tractor and implement dealers did that. The dealers that do this doesn't have the inside room to store all their tractors and implements for sale. Also, they don't care what they look like anyway, if people like me and others buy them for the new price they want for them.

If you want to know what your new tractor and implements will look like in 4 or 5 years, just leave them out in the rain, snow, wind, and sun. By that time, they sure will not look like the day you bought them. Tractors and implements cost to much money to let sit out in the weather all the time to get eaten up with rust. I work hard for my dollars, and I sure am going to take care of my tractor and implements. If a person has plenty of money to throw around, buy new tractors and implements ever 2 or 3 years then. A person that does this don't need to store their tractors and implements in a barn, or shed. Instead of paying money for building a barn, or shed for their tractors and implement to be stored in, just keep buying new equipment all the time as prices keep going to the moon. I think a person would be better off building a barn, shed, or garage for all their farm equipment. I know some on this board will disagree with me on this, but I know it will save a farmer or rancher big dollars in the long haul.

Just my opinion to store tractors and implements inside all the time, when not in use.

My tractor and all the implements are stored in a 100 year old grainery that I have propped up with treated 2 x 6's to keep it from falling down. Plans are for new storage shed this summer

I've used a 28 x 40 bank barn except in the winter. Too difficult to get to/get out after a good snow.

A wooden lean too. Those metal carports are popular in my area only about $600.

The shed as my wife calls it.

Sorry for the poor image quality but I had to lighten the photo as it was quite dark when it was taken.
