After lots of thought, decided on a one year old Big Tex 20', 5'dovetail, 14 K gooseneck, which was about same price as a new PJ BP. Since I would have needed a new Class V receiver hitch anyway, I opted instead for a B&W turn over GN hitch. Only problem was previous owner of F-250 welded a steel channel between the frame and simply placed a 10,000lb. ball, and had no safety hookups for chains. I just did not trust that setup, so unfortunately I must remove the bed to cut all of this off the frame, so I can bolt on the B&W kit. Did not really want to get into this but seems the right thing to do. I just never like to cut corners, especially with 12000 lbs. hooked up. $4800 for the GN, another $575 for the installed hitch, and I hope my body shop doesn't hurt me too bad to pull the bed and cut off the mess underneath. But still not too much more than a new BP, and in the end, I will have what I really knew would be best. Thanks guys for your advice. Boy, my hunting habits (food plots, etc) get expensive! Now, any ideas on hiding a 25' goose neck from my wife? New guns are easy to hide, as she doesn't know a rifle from a shotgun, but am afraid she may notice this thing attached to my truck! Oh well, I've been in trouble before. Thanks again guys!
