Makers Mark is my go to in winter.

That is the only way I drink whiskey-3 ice cubes. No water or soda. Used to drink jack and coke, but too much coke upsets my stomach.

Yep, Coke is for cleaning corrosion from battery terminals. ;-)

I do not drink much, really have not found a beer I like but do enjoy a nice glass of whiskey on a Sunday evening. For years I drink Jack Daniels, either regular or Gentleman Jack. My wife introduced me to Fireball last night, it was good but not something I would drink regularly. I have heard of Rebecca Creek, but have yet to try it. For you whiskey drinkers, what are some good ones to try?

I think JD is too harsh. Fireball is like SoCo with cinnamon. I like SoCo neat, but not SoCo with cinnamon.

Nip bottles are filled with Snowshoe Grog, a Minnesota tradition, which is a blend of bourbon or brandy and peppermint schnapps.

A second for Evan William's 6 year old Kentucky Bourbon.

I remember you mentioning this last year. I'm going to have to try a small batch.

Dad swore by Mr. Boston Rock & Rye but I haven't seen any in a while.

One of the best single malt Scotch whiskey's imo is Laphroaig. You can taste the peat earth of the remote Scottish island of Islay, where it is made in the traditional way. Och aye.

A review I found which sums it up well:

"Imagine a primeval forest on fire, a massive moon towering over the inferno, the sparks surging towards the sky - now drink it. The aromatic smoke creeps out of the bottle like creeping black death, augmented by powerful peat and medicinal notes. The taste is surprisingly sweet for such an otherworldly (nether worldly?) liquid...I taste the notes of mango and citrus behind the fiery blasts of oily ash and burning tires. Swallowing it makes one second guess themselves as to whether it is poison or not - tons of ash, fire, burning forest, lit cigar and tangy peat course through the system, leaving a roaring bonfire in one's chest that lasts for several minutes. An unbelievable and unforgettable scotch. I've had Ardbeg, Lagavulin and Bowmore, and honestly, there's just nothing like this."

Never seen that down this way.

I whipped up a 8oz flask full using Makers Mark and Rumple Minze. Will report back tomorrow after feeding cows.
