Why is TYM down here in the weeds?

Among the LS and Kioti brands, TYM is further up the ladder.

LS has been plagued with problems since 2019. Even recalling two tractor models and replacing them with different models due to twisted frames.

Kioti machines were fine until after 2021. Getting parts and warranty work has dropped into a black-hole.

TYM has had a few ups and downs after the Branson purchase. Some Branson models immediately had no supplier parts as a had competitor made them.

Even the big boys have problems. Deere especially.

More salt into the wounds, the global economy is hurting. And with people not coming back to do manual labor jobs of making parts, it hurts everyone in the supply chain.

If anyone is looking for a machine, find one with a good track record, global engine to get parts anywhere and most of all verify the dealer near you will not let you hang out to dry. This goes for most brands up high or mid-way on the ladder.
I bought my TYM in large part because of the Mitsubishi 3L engine, which I can readily get rebuilt replacements for, or find the parts for. It was used in a host of equipment from many manufacturers. And is readily available. And after looking at a T25, it looked very similar to my venerable T233. Getting the pdf parts manuals for both the T233 and the T25, many of the major parts are the same. Guess the TYM engineers knew enough to not fix what wasn't broke.

I could have bought any color, but this was my first non lawn tractor so I wanted to see if I’d even use the thing much. I did a bunch of research and liked the dealer. It has a Yanmar engine and 6 year warranty. Seems very well built.

I’m at just about 50 hours of using it going up ocassional weekends over the summer and fall. It’s been great. It will pay for itself in 2 years just figuring what outsourcing that work and/or renting equipment would have cost. Plus I enjoy using it.

I keep hearing stuff like TYM has sloppy welds but I don’t see any evidence of that so far. Maybe that was years ago? Anyone remember when Toyota was considered garbage?

Thanks, I have the T233/T273 manual. Recently bought a T293, the 29-hp version. Because it has the factory cab with heater, (They did fit the same cab on the T233, making it the smallest tractor to ever have a factory cab), and came with a TYM branded mid-pto driven Bercomac Snowblower.

If anyone has a manual for the T293, or the S4L Mitsubishi engine, I could use those. I've tried to find PDFs of those without any luck. I found one service manual which said it was the T293 Service Manual but turned out to be the T233/T273 Service Manual. And I haven't been able to find a free copy of the manual for the S4L Engine. The Service Manual for the T233/T273 is pretty applicable for the T293 because the three tractors share the frames, transmissions, hydraulics, and steering. Only big difference is the T293 uses a 29-hp, 4-cylinder engine vs the 3-cylinder in the T233 and T273. But all three engines have the same bellhousing pattern.

I'm a former Mitsubishi Yahoo Groups moderator. I have all the manuals. We post them all on TractorForumDOTcom

See my signature below to the two sites on Groups.IO.

The manuals have all been out there since 2019.

I was just wondering the same when I saw RK tractors up with the big boys.

Yeah, it is really silly, RK doesn't make their tractors and are still listed among the bigbois. Yet TYM is down in peasent land.
