Why not make a fixed ROPS foldable???

/ Why not make a fixed ROPS foldable??? #41
OK I'm out of the closet. I chose not to mess with making a folding rops. With the Turfs on my tractor it just fit under the door. With the ags it was raised a few inches. Not willing to want to build a folding rops (I checked it out, looked like something that would rattle me to death after a while), I removed about 2 inches from the top portion. Just enough to have 1/2" of clearance. I doubt that 2" is going to make a hill of beans.

Of course people are always putting bigger tires on trucks, lift kits, chips, and don't think about it. I've seen here gin poles stuck way out on the end of the FEL. Not a second thought. I don't think there is any problem welding on a ROPS.
