Wildfires - smoke

We got the smoke here today. The sun never shown through until sometime in the afternoon. I'm not sure which fires it's coming from though.

Jstpssng - you are so far away from me - the smoke being generated in BC and all the way down to central CA could easily be going West to get to you. Last night was great. Today - the sun never broke thru the haze and its smelled smoky all day. The air is translucent blue. There are just dozens and dozens and tens of dozens of active wildfires in southern BC - thru EA WA - thru EA Oregon and as far south as central California. Its no exaggeration to say that all of the PNW is ablaze.

Thanks Bruce. Its really depressing - you should see the wildfire map for British Colombia. Active wild fires all the way up to central BC.

We actually saw blue sky for the first time in a week here and were able to actually spend a little time outside. Not sure if it'll stick but was sure a nice change.

Not as bad as the Napa fires... that caused business and schools to close... worst I have every seen... like living in a chimney at one point.

The last several days here in the Bay Area it seems everyone has scratchy throats... visibility is way down... deep brown haze everywhere... but not so much at ground level.

Billions spent on industry pollution controls and all it takes is a fire...

Must drive Cal-EPA crazy - all this air pollution and not a dam thing they can do about it - nobody to blame - nobody to assess fines against. Just sit there - grit their teeth and take it.

Screw the EPA, I can't imagine what this is doing to those who aren't fortunate enough to be able to afford to not stay indoors. Tuesday this week spending an hour outside was the equivalent of smoking a pack of cigarettes according to a few sources.

I feel bad for all our animals, no way to bring them inside so they just have to suffer and deal with it.

Nice break from the smoke today. Not a hint of haze even. Had strong wind all day yesterday, still a bit of breeze going. Temps have dropped almost 20 degrees from a few days ago. I am able to breath again. Even my inhaler wasn't clearing the congestion
