Will a BX Plow Snow

I just had a friend that got an Grand L. Next to a shovel, the BX looks like a huge monster of a machine. Next to a Grand L, it almost looks like a toy. .
I found something to make my B3030 look like a toy. Go big or go back, baby!

Thanks to everyone for their comments. There still seems to be a variety of opinions on moving snow with a BX tractor.I think it will get the job done but I wonder if I will be frustrated with it.After watching some videos of BX's moving snow,I am starting to wonder if I should keep the 3240.It seems that the tractors in the videos were spinning out in areas where the 3240 would easily plow through.I think I am a bit spoiled but it is the old saying,"you don't know what you've got till it's gone."
You didn't seriously think the BX would compare in performance with the L, did you????

I didn't think it would compare but I wasn't sure of the differences in their capabilities, still don't really know.I should clarify by saying that I owned a BX25 before the 3240 and am familiar with the capabilities of both tractors except for plowing snow with the FEL bucket of the BX, which is what this thread is about.I only had it for one winter and we didn't get a lot of snow that year,I think I only plowed twice and that was with a blade on the front of the BX.I didn't care for the blade as it made a lot of mess in my gravel driveway but I probably wasn't a very good operator either.I find the bucket on the 3240 does a nice job with a minimum of mess, that's why I prefer it.The thing I am curious about is how my BX2360 would do with the FEL bucket.I don't mind a little extra time, not tearing the sh?t out of my driveway is my main concern.

Just took a drive up to the local Kubota dealer.Had a good look at the buckets on the BX's,got to say it didn't give me a good feeling. They really looked quite small, especially for snow removal.I did see a M7040 though with a seven foot wide bucket, makes the six foot on the 3240 look small,hmmm....?

When we r trying to downsize or save money, it isn't recommended that a man go shopping at any kind of dealership...whether it be motorcycles, cars, trucks, tractors, or tools.

At least that's been my experience :)

You are supposed to compare the BX bucket to a snow shovel, not a bigger tractor.

Just wanted to say thank you to everyone who posted a comment,it helped me decide to keep the 3240.I think the BX would have done the job but I would probably have been frustrated with it especially if we had a big snow storm. When you get used to something it is hard to make do with something else. When I looked at what money would be left after getting the BX ready for plowing,it really didn't seem worth it.The 3240 is paid for so it doesn't really cost me anything to have it set there. As one person said, many people only use their tractor a few times a year but it is nice to have it when you need it.I also have a couple of ditches that need periodic maintenance so I can use that to help justify keeping it.:D

I built a hydraulic plow for my BX1800. My main driveway is 250ft gravel plus turnarounds, parking area etc. Plow is 54in (wish it was a little bigger). Curtis makes a 6ft for the BX, but I tend to think that's too big if you get a lot of heavy snow. I have loaded turf tires, never had to put on my chains or 3pt weight. 4wd is key.
