You didn't seriously think the BX would compare in performance with the L, did you????Thanks to everyone for their comments. There still seems to be a variety of opinions on moving snow with a BX tractor.I think it will get the job done but I wonder if I will be frustrated with it.After watching some videos of BX's moving snow,I am starting to wonder if I should keep the 3240.It seems that the tractors in the videos were spinning out in areas where the 3240 would easily plow through.I think I am a bit spoiled but it is the old saying,"you don't know what you've got till it's gone."
I didn't think it would compare but I wasn't sure of the differences in their capabilities, still don't really know.I should clarify by saying that I owned a BX25 before the 3240 and am familiar with the capabilities of both tractors except for plowing snow with the FEL bucket of the BX, which is what this thread is about.I only had it for one winter and we didn't get a lot of snow that year,I think I only plowed twice and that was with a blade on the front of the BX.I didn't care for the blade as it made a lot of mess in my gravel driveway but I probably wasn't a very good operator either.I find the bucket on the 3240 does a nice job with a minimum of mess, that's why I prefer it.The thing I am curious about is how my BX2360 would do with the FEL bucket.I don't mind a little extra time, not tearing the sh?t out of my driveway is my main concern. You didn't seriously think the BX would compare in performance with the L, did you????
kcender said:Just took a drive up to the local Kubota dealer.Had a good look at the buckets on the BX's,got to say it didn't give me a good feeling. They really looked quite small, especially for snow removal.I did see a M7040 though with a seven foot wide bucket, makes the six foot on the 3240 look small,hmmm....?
IF a person was making rational decisions, yes. Not always easy to doYou are supposed to compare the BX bucket to a snow shovel, not a bigger tractor.
