X304, X324, Or Something Else?

Was that Lanham Cycle & Turf Equipment that quoted you those prices? I mentioned them in an earlier post, only because they were close to you. I have never dealt with them before. You should not have to pay more than the MSRP listed on Cub's website. If you don't mind driving over to Calvert County, Solomon's True Value is a full service Cub dealer. That is where I bought mine. They are an authorized service center and they fix the tractors sold at Lowes and Home Depot. Ask for Jeff, and tell him Chip sent you. ;)

So I called the Cub Cadet dealer today that's closet to where I live and needless to say I wasn't that impressed. They seemed nice enough answering the phone, but then they asked me if I could hold for one moment - 15 minutes later I was still on hold. So, I hung up and called back, at which point they put me back on hold for another 5 minutes. Finally, someone spoke with me, but didn't seem to know much of anything about Cub Cadets. I told him I was interested in the 2500 series and he replied that they didn't have any. After telling him that I would just buy one from somewhere else, he then decided that maybe he could look it up if I gave him the model numbers. He then gave me these quotes:

GT 2554 - $4399
GT 2550 - $4099
GT 2544 - $3699

After swallowing hard, I asked him if he was aware that the prices on the CC web site were several hundered dollars cheaper per model? After talking back and forth he agreed to try and do some research and possibly work his prices down towards the web site prices. Since there are several dealers in the area, I think I will just call a different one tomorrow. Am I wrong to be somewhat disgusted by this experience?

This is ridicules.

My 2554 was $5050 which included all the following:
Front Blade
Rear Tiller
2 Suitcase Weights
Lug Rear Tires.

This guy would probably want over 6000 bucks for one like mine.

Well, I finally pulled the trigger - Cub Cadet GT2550 delivered to my door with tax and everything for $3849. The bummer is that I won't get to play with my new toy till the end of may:( I haven't told everyone this, but I am in the military and have been away on business in Florida for this whole thread. It's been painful handling everything by cell phone, but it has all worked out well. My father in law is mowing the lawn for me this weekend so I'll have to let you all know what he thinks of it. Thanks everyone for your help and I will be sure to post pics as soon as I get home later this month!
