Ductape your picture reminds me of our first winter here. Only house on a private road, 1/4 mile from county maintained road and 18" snow fall. Only tool was my trusty FX-24D and my 6' KK finish mower. KK rear is kinda V shaped so backed through snow. Took it from 18" to 2-3" in a couple of passes. Played all afternoon.

Got out next day and after work bought a rear blade. Played for a few more hours taking snow to pavement. Wife was happy as a clam all snowed in (even though pavement was showing), but she worked too far away for anyone there to know.

Thanks for the compliments ! The tractor was allegedly owned by a guy who only used it to mow the lawn at his summer camp, which explains the mere 225 hours on it. I know it rolls over at a thousand, and may be 1225.... but judging by the condition and the fact that it has sat out in the rear lot of the dealer for nearly two years.... i think the 225 hours is legit. I'm confident most of the slight fading of the paint happened while it sat outside at the Deere dealer. I was pretty happy with the deal i got on it. We are supposed to get some snow here in NH today, so i went out and bought an inexpensive blade for the back. It was too wide so i lopped almost a foot off of either side. Of course... only because my mid mount blower looks like it will only handle a few inches.

A front end loader is in the works, but it will probably take a few months to soften up whats-her-name so i can spend the money. It took a while to talk her into the new "tool" to do the landscaping.... but she eventually saw the light ! I'm a lucky guy ! One more pic before i head out.....

OK..... another question for the Yanmar gurus. I saw a front mount, shaft driven, 48' wide snow blower made by Yanmar. I recall seeing on one of the labels on my tractor that a front mount PTO was an option. I did a search here for a Yanmar front PTO without many results. Does anyone know if a front PTO is avaialable for my tractor, and what , if any mods would have to be done to install it? It seems i recall seeing pictures of a smaller Yanmar with one somewhere here... but the hood and radiator had to be raised. Looked like the blower was belt driven off the PTO to a drive shaft, then the shaft turns the auger/thrower. Or.... should i just think about a rear blower and forget retrofitting this stuff ???

The picture of your 186D makes it look high in the front. Is that just the picture? By any chance have the tires been changed? I think the fronts should be 6.00X12 and the rears 9.50X16

There is electric clutch that fits under the battery and attaches to the front of the engine. There are duel sheaves on the clutch and belts that run down to the gearbox that reduces engine rpm to 540. then a short pto shaft to a standard 540 snowblower. Also there is a single acting hydrulic cylinder to lift the blower, kind of a crude setup as the blower drops like a stone when you go to put it down. You could probably rig something up. I think front snowblowers are the way to move snow. Let me know if you want more info.

The JD 750 is about the same size but there are a lot of differences. I think the key and the oil filter are the same.

Are you saying you lopped a foot off either side of the blade in the picture? I don't understand the comment about the blower, but the blade should be considerably, about 1 foot each side, wider than the tractor so it will still cover your tracks when you angle it.
