Ok, just kidding. Have a nice electric exhaust fan on the other end that plugs in to the generator, plus the side walls don’t go all the way up. That should be enough.

10-4...... just being nosy :).... thanks.......

I'd say buy a lottery ticket Gale, but you've already used up quite a bit of luck with that save

Nice feeling for sure, having that coming back to life with that mess in the forecast. Heavy ice will end up taking lines down, but 15" of snow is a bit of work, esp. if your area doesn't deal with much normally.

Stay safe, and esp. on the roads.....

Yes I got very lucky. I can't complain about that 30 year old 18HP B&S engine that's had little attention.

Thankful the ice is staying south of us . We will see how much snow we get Wednesday and Thursday on top of our 2 inches.

knowing the generator is ready to fire up on a moment's notice is a good feeling.

Old school ones (some of their newer designs were updated in this respect, IIRC.....) like your Briggs, and mine, are loud in stock configuration, but I've found the reliability to be good. Had one stuck float on one of mine, but that's a fuel issue, not a Briggs issue.....

The one Briggs I have that's likely got enough hours on it qualify for a valve check is in my push-mower, but as it's still producing good power, I haven't found a RoundTuIt for that task yet.... Especially with push-mowers, I find many people (including some who definitely know better) never/ever even change the oil..... at least mine has had that done :).

Thanks to the ice the 22kw got a 26 hour workout.

Everything worked properly during the outage, but did end up with one equipment casualty, a 12-15 year old 1200VA tripplite UPS died after the stop/start at 24 hours to check the genny's oil (battery was still good & fully charged, the UPS just cut off & wouldn't go back on-line).

Out of curiosity, did it burn any oil? Is it a 3600rpm air cooled, like the Generac?
If the battery in your UPS is the original, it could be the source of your problem.

My 22 KW went thru 2.5 days of usage...more or less. Checked every morning. Used no oil according to dipstick.

No oil use & still clear as when it came out of the bottle. The UPS battery was still fully charged & swapping in a spare I had on hand made no difference. I've probably changed batteries in that unit 4 or 5 times over the years.

No oil use & still clear as when it came out of the bottle. It is an air cooled Honeywell, so pretty much identical to Generac (same factory?). It was installed by the local Generac dealer via Costco. The UPS battery was still fully charged & swapping in a spare I had on hand made no difference. I've probably changed batteries in that unit 4 or 5 times over the years.

I know the TrippLites at work are very sensitive to dead batteries, they will not turn on with a dead battery.

Yes the Honeywell units are just rebranded Generac.
Thanks for the reply.

Yup, and I always thought it was funny when a customer demanded a honeywell, and not a generac unit
