Did you tag your trailer at 14K, even though we can only tow 12K off the bumper? (With a WD hitch-according to GM).

I can't decide wether to buy a 12K or 14K. 14K seems like a waste compared to 12K if you can't really use the extra 2K???

I'd like to know the brand of that trailer and see if that brand is available here in the northeast.. I have a Bri-Mar 18ft, 12,000 and Bri-mar just went to 20-12.. The 20 is still not long enough for what I really need.. I have yet to find and trailers here over 20 ft long and still bumper pull.

The manufacturer of the trailer is Trail-Rite, LLC. I know the GM specs say 12,000 for 2005, and the 2007s say 13,000. I error on the side of overkill when it comes to trailering. Going down the highway at 70mph is a bad time to find out the money you saved buying a cheap or inadeqate trailer or trailering setup for that matter is coming back to bite you ten fold over or worse.

I'm down with that. I was just wondering if you tagged it at 14K or something lower.

I agree, the Bri-Mars are far from cheap, in fact I think they are one of the strongest around, at least where I live... 18 years owning tractor trailers will teach you something about safety... I just liked the looks in your picture and it appears to be strongly built.
