We have 2 Freighter medium duty straight trucks with the 5.9 and 6 speeds. No one will drive them. They are too gutless. We have some newer ones with the 12.7 Detroit and Allison's in them. Much better.
Yeah! double the displacement usually helps pep em up lol

I don’t know why most single axel dump trucks are so weak. You can find single axel tractors with 400-500 hp and a 10 speed. Most single axel dumps are half that power and a 6 speed. My 750 with a little 5.9 actually pulls pretty good. A lot better than the DT 466 trucks I’ve driven will do but it’s still no 10 liter pushing 500 hp and 1200 FP

Many single axle road tractors end up converted to s/a dumps for that very reason-much more power.
Also many vocational truck buyers don’t care about operator comfort or giving them the HP to drive faster.

Glad to see the ROPS is folded down so we don't see your pic in that other thread tomorrow...

It wouldn’t be over height so what difference would it make?

Hard to make that statement when you don't know what he's driving under.

I'm pretty sure at least 98% of the readers here can detect a joke?

I know for a fact it’s under legal height. If you plan on going through a century old covered bridge then maybe not.

Here’s my newest to me truck. It’s probably excessive to pull a mini x but that truck has 10x the braking power a 3500 does.

I folded it down because the last 4-5 miles of my drive are on a dirt road through the state forest and I wanted to minimize the branches it caught.

I did get your original post and got a chuckle out of it.

I like the look of that truck! That was my other choice of color if I couldn't find a Delmonico Red one. 2500 or 3500?

Thanks. Delmonico red was actually my second choice.

I finally have a setup worth posting here. Have to say, this thread was one of the first ones I lurked in and drooled over, pining for the day when I could haul my own equipment around properly, and independently. Finally.

My ol' '03 2500HD w/ 6.0L LQ4 gasser w/ 4L80e trans doesn't win many drag races, but seems to like hauling nearly 10k around just fine.
