Designed with high-wear components, the new R Series Disc Mowers will help operators mow with confidence, even in dense crop conditions.

OLATHE, KANSAS (August 21, 2014) – Whether you are a commercial hay or independent livestock producer, mowing hay quickly and timely is critical. John Deere has the disc mower model that will cut right to the chase for your operation. The five new models feature stronger components and other enhancements to increase the overall productivity and life of the machine.

“By having a constant 3-point hitch height, a quick remove shear hub assembly, and heavy-duty cutterbar that has sizes ranging between 5 and 10 feet, producers can improve performance and uptime,” says product line manager, Jeremy Unruh, John Deere Ottumwa Works. “The new heavy-duty cutterbar, reduces the need for oil changes which diminishes the cost to your operation and the amount of service needed on the disc mower.”

Uptime is increased with newly designed high-capacity bearings and transport capabilities. High-capacity bearings increase the life of high-wear components so you can mow with confidence in dense crop conditions. The mowers are designed to transport within the tractor width and moving from field to field is a quick and simple task.

“The five new R Series models cater to a variety of operations,” concludes Unruh. “With all of the improved components, the new lineup of disc mowers will be easier to use, faster to service and stronger in the field helping customers be more productive”
