Political Correctness on TBN?

So then, some of us shoud take up the cause and present to opposite side just to keep things balanced?

There are probably several who would accept that challenge.

I think we saw that in the "airplane on a conveyor belt" thread. :)

I like TBN just the way it is.

I never felt like I needed to take a shower after a visit.

I like strong debate and alternate opinions but not rude or troll behaviour. I've been moderated too, but the site is just fine!

Well..........I stand for Truth. Everyone has a Opinion and some of those can be taken many ways. But for the Truth..It stands on its own. Lets talk some facts. Some may take offense to these Facts. There was a person banned on this site( i don't really know the reason and don't care). Then there was a cover up and denial(i do care) of this( I can produce the email with the banning). I have a PM from MikePA stating that the banning did not occur. Moderators and administrators, please simply man up and tell the truth on matters and do what you feel is right(i don't have to agree) But tell the Truth about it! Great site! hehe, Yall just need to tell the truth and don't cover up stuff.

Which member? I can check the system and see what happened. PM if you'd like.

Is it just me or have others noticed alot of people mentioning in the threads that posts have been removed due to brand bashing, argumentive type posts and one I saw was due to a stick figure sticker?

I realize members can't post curse words or things of that nature but come on TBN where is our free speech, are we going to be like Ebay soon and not be allowed to discuss firearms or things that aren't all warm and fuzzy?

Just my .02 worth, This thread will probably be removed as well

There are lots of places where you can rant and rave about whatever to your heart's content.

Think of it like this: In your real life you can go to the barber shop or a bar and say what you want and that's okay. But then there are places where you go where don't act like that. Think of church, school, your mama's house.

TBN is like the latter. It's like your mama's house. That's because for most of us it's family.

If you read TBN very much you see that members celebrate successes, family and otherwise with us. They also come to us when they're in pain from the loss of family or even a pet.

You can go to the political websites, not unlike the bars in real life, and you won't find that sense of family.

We have it here. The reason we have it here is because like family, you're expected to be polite and considerate, think of family.

BTW you might find it interesting how I became a member of TBN. A long time ago on a political forum there was a pair to draw to. There was me and there was another member. We were always on opposite sides of the discussion. Then one day in the middle of us ripping each other new ones he posted on an off topic, "Harvey you need to go here because you will love it." That "here" was TBN.

We're family. If you doubt that consider the fact that when Holly decided she wanted to include TBN in her father's surprise birthday party without him having a clue she came to us and it happened. Bird's daughter saw us here at TBN as an important part of his family.

The reason TBN has so many members is because of the power of tractoring in a family friendly environment. You wouldn't want a visitor ranting about brands or politics at your family gathering. We understand how you feel.

I'm proud to note that my 5000th post is an echo.

Harv,
I found this site while looking for information about tractor repair, and it is by far one of the greatest resources for knowledgeable tractor folks on the WWW and are willing to help, Although I have also found that most folks here do not wish to engage in small talk or laid back with "hows the weather" conversation,
Only being a member here for a few month I'm sure I have missed out on 10's of thousands conversations of folks actually caring for other folks and there life's and well being as family would be, most everything I have read over the past few months are or have been "politically correct" forms of discussions, in other words nothing much out of the "Tractor Box" yes there are times where a subject comes up and can be turned into a bit of (((fun)))
but then usually someone else will come along and set things straight and be back to hard nosing again,..... All and All I would like to see more folks agreeing on things rather then so much input of each others opinions as to why things should not be one way or the other, and then it turns back to the " politically correct" issue again and the bullets start flying, I would like nothing more than to be part of a large Network Family,.......
Yeah maybe it is a Family oriented site ( Family feud ) that is! ;)
like the Hatfeild and McCoys :D

For me it's personal. Leo Frisk and harveylacey.com harveylacey.com

I know Texas Don, Eddie Walker, Jim Inman, Bird, Kyle, Bobby Goodman, and so many others. These are people who I know better and more about than a lot of my real life friends. I've met Muhammad, Ibrahim, Hakim, and the best thing about all of them, Hakim's wife and mother of the boys who make this all work. When I see someone I know from here it is like seeing family.

When Eddie was going with Steph I was proud for him. When they split up I felt pain like would with any friend who was going through tough times. We, my wife and myself, were excited when Jim and Kathy got married. We thought it was a perfect match, still do. I can't talk to Texas Don without getting the feel goods. Bobby Goodman called me the other day and we didn't get around to his question until after we had caught up on how his work and family were doing, same with mine. It was friends getting the important stuff out of the way before we talked about other stuff.

I can't imagine a TBN get together where there would brand bashing or political arguments. I'm a liberal, darn near a communist in some people's eyes. Yet some of my TBN family that I care about the most are extremely conservative. We don't go there because it's like family in that what brings us together is much bigger than stuff like politics or the color of a tractor.

I've been hammering away at a keyboard burning up bandwidth since the nineties. Early on I accepted that online relationships were just like real life ones. They can be just as real and just as important.

If you doubt that then you should have been at Bird's birthday party. The TBN'rs were glad to see each other, just like extended family would be. And when Bird came into the room he lit up when he saw us. Muhammad sent special stuff for Bird and us. He didn't have to do so. Heck, there's what? seventy thousand plus members? and only fifteen or so would be there?

It's family and to be part of it you have to act like it.
