I usually just carry my Ruger Mark I .22, or a .38 or .357 revolver, depending on mood that day.

lets it hang in an ok position for most work, and if you need to do something that the gun is in the way, it slips off quick and can be hung up somewhere out of the way. Kinda pricy, but work good. I don't know if there's another source out there or not.
