TripleR - remind me not to walk through your back yard
I reckon carrying the pistol on my person while on the tractor would be the best method, and covered up also so as to keep dirt & dust out. Then again, I might build a glove box of some sort that will be within easy reach.

Hey, it is embarrassing, she out shoots me every time until she puts quite a few rounds down range and starts flinching. She has killed more deer than me too
Covered is probably your best bet to keep the crud out. I have a cab, so it is not an issue of dirt for me, I just hate to wear a belt now that I don't have to. I really don't even like to carry a gun anymore, but it is probably a good idea.
