He's doing better. I saw him go by the house in his truck yesterday. He still hasn't gone back to work.
His mother told my mother that he was going to have to have another surgery in a few weeks.

Let me see if I have this about right.Government says I can,t posses a shot gun I sawed off,BUT I can use one made by a company that probably paid off a politician to make his sawed off shot gun okie dokie.We,re takin it in the bloomers folks.:confused2ave
Don't know it you know guns, but most smooth bore pistols capable of shooting shotshells were made before the "sawed off" laws and require owner licensing & newer handguns that are shotshell chambered have rifled barrels and are not by definition "shotguns". Loopholes are always cheaper than payoffs. MikeD74T

Personally, I don't kill snakes. I will reconsider that policy when a snake latches onto one of my body parts. This has not happened yet. I am 64 years old and have lived in prime snake country all my life.
Having said that, I usually wear heavy boots and carry a .357 magnum revolver in a sturdy belt holster while on my tractor. I keep a 12 ga with both birdshot and buckshot in my truck. when I dismount from my open tractor, I usually have a thick coat of dirt all over myself. The gun is just one more thing I have to clean before I can go to bed.
I recently found two dead deer on our property. These deer were apparently shot for fun by someone from the public road and left where they fell. I am more concerned about whoever did that than I am about any snakes.

We have that same problem. EVERY year, we get several carcasses or just the whole deer with the antlers/hooves removed. I'm not a hunter since my father died, but it really sickens me that hunters do this.

If it has a rifled barrel, it's not considered a "shotgun".
It's sold as a "handgun"
And you CAN own a short barreled shotgun with the correct paperwork
So then what would it be considered? I hunt deer with mine and it is perfectly legal because the State of Michigan defines it as a shotgun, not a rifle. Where I live, you can not use a rifle to hunt, just a shotgun. Hmmm.......
