Cleared extra dirt from septic tank areas for cabin down the road.

Septic tank area for garage. Installed two tanks to avoid a pumping station.

You use an iron set to 300 degrees and it heat activates the glue. Once in place
you use files to trim down the edges on the top.

Started on the fire pit today since the clay is dry and the weather was spectacular!

I had a customer roll a ring. 4' using 1.5" angle. I am just laying the blocks to see how they would fit.

The overall size is 16' x 16'. When it is done you should only see the top of the ring level with the concrete pad.

Great looking project! I might have missed it, but did you have any issues with permits since it is half residence (living space) - half garage?

The living space you mention does not contain any closets in the rooms where a bedroom might go. This would be my techical argument. The only inspections required for my barn/workshop/etc... were to inspect the footers, an electrical inspecton of the panel only (if you add lines later that is up to the homeowner) to allow the power company to juice it up and set the meter and a final inspection of the building under roof. I think they would have a problem if I moved in there. It would be hard for them to kick me out.
I got my septic and well permit at the beginning before the building permit. Both have been installed and approved. The only problem with an inspector at the end was after my floor was poured. He said he wanted to inspect it before and after. He had told me he could see everything he needed to see since it was an unfinished barn so he was too late to make me do anything. He failed to see the 2 vent pipes and closet flange as there were some items I had started to store before going to the next phase. I had told them since the beginning it was going to have a Bathroom so I could wash down. I told them the house or cabin would come later. I need to give them a site plan to help with setting up locations for the septic and well. Set back rules also came into play and you have to have that approved in advance. There are set ups like this all over most counties, they tend to be done in reverse.

I needed a sky hook to hold my fire pit ring in place level while I try to frame out for concrete. This came pretty close to doing the job.

It will take about 5 yards.
Once this sets, I will work on figuring out how I am going to form the hole in the pit.
