Am I the only one who remembers the Case Unimog ??

I"ve been around construction a long time and this is the first time I've ever seen or even heard of one. That's as slick as snot and I'd love to have one. I have seen a lot of the fold down hoes on forward cab Internationals, as our local power/gas company had several of them. They were quick to move to a jobsite especially in an emergency and would dig a hole in a hurry, as good as any regular backhoe. I don't really know why they stopped using them other than perhaps the versatility of a tractor for carrying loads, backfilling etc.
As far as what the Dodgeho looks like, as someone else said, just parking it in the lot as a conversation piece would be worth the money. I congratulate the ingenuity of the builder that put it together. It worked for him and if it works for you, who cares what anyone else thinks of it.

Good picture. I saw one of those on the back of a semi lowboy trailer about six months ago. I had totally forgotten about it until you posted your pic.

Now I like this machine. I saw these in action a few years ago when we had some major flash flooding the National Guard deployed them to help in the clean up and they were real jewels.

I got thinking about this again as my buddy had one and because the hoes were further back than the Unimog, they actually folded down flat on the bed so they didn't stick up above the cab for transport.
The more I think about it, for someone in the landscaping business, it might be an ideal rig for tree planting etc. Carry the load to the job, back up, dig the hole, drop it in and go.
Here's one built specifically for pickups.
Truck backhoe
