what are you going to use for the door latch and where did you get them? Cab looks great by the way! Ken.

I got them from http://WWW.DEALSINAPINCH.COM/masseyfergusonslamlatchcabdoorinteriorrha-sl1448.aspx http://WWW.DEALSINAPINCH.COM/massey...5mkii10851155125026202625264026802685272.aspx
I only used this handle for the door there will be no way to open the windows from the outside.
I felt the price was good but the shipping was a little bit steaper than I would have liked The latches are not exactly what I wanted but I think I will still be happy with them.

Thank you. I have the outside handle that looks just like yours and think the inside part would work great! I will check into them.

Just wanted to tell you the cab looks fantastic. Bet your glad you already had the hoist for taking off your jeep top ?

Thanks,
I am planning on putting a heater in the cab but I want to wait until I have it done before I order one. I think I am going to buy it from sportsimportsltd.com 12, 24, 36, 48 & 72 Volt Auxiliary Heaters & Blankets I bought one from them to put in the skid steer at work and it works very well. I hand built the one for our other skid steer but it does not work well because the fan I use is not big enough.
Rob

I noticed that the heater you are looking at has a 30amp draw. How do you know if the tractor can handle that? I'm not saying it can't, I am just curious because I am looking for one myself? Thanks

Thanks. Actually I built the lift for the cab and I hope to be able to use it on the jeep. I must have owned a jeep for close to 10 years and every year I have to find some one to help lift the top off in the spring.

I am not going to buy the electric heater. They have coolant heaters with a low amp draw fan further down the page. I am not sure wich one I will use yet. My dad tried the electric one in his first cab build and it did throw some heat but the charging system just could not handle it. He was using it in on a kubota L2550. He has since built a real cab and installed a coolant heater. He makes sure to rub it in how nice and toasty his cab is while he is out plowing snow and my cab still sits on the shop floor.

If you were to build a few more and get paid for them your wife might be much more receptive. I might be in the market for one for my John deere 770
Just a basic model, windshield, lexan side glass, no heat or radio. I have a canopy to buld from. If your interested?

You would have to be willing to wait and wait and wait because I am real slow at building. I just don't have the time to spend that I would like to. I would think a basic cab with no frills could be built in a short amount of time if you had a good place to work on it. I don't know where you live but if you are close to me I would not mind helping you build one this summer.

Thats the same fan I used in the skid steer. maybe if I used two it work better. It is supose to move 106cfm. Let me know if it works for you and if it does I will upgrade that heater.
Rob

Hey Rob,

this Fan i have used is rated up to 193mウ/H witch is something around 113cfm.

i have finish my Cab and also the Heater but i am not very happy with the heating power.
The two fans do the Job very well but i think i have do design the Heater Cover in another way and look for an lower mounting place on the Cab.
It looks like they will get air pockets in the Heater circuit because of the high mounting place and so the Heater Core will not heat up enough.

but at all the two fans have enough power so that the windows get not steamed and i think if i can fix the heating problem i can also heat up the Cab very well

I wish I could say my cab is done too. Its not but it is getting closer. Its good to hear that the fans are going to work. I was told that if you mount the heater too high you will need to add a pump to the circiut to push the coolant through the heater. Do you have any pictures of your cab? Your avatar looks good but can't get a good look at it.

yes, i think it can be helpful to add an extra circulation pump but i am wondering how the Heater work on other Tractors that have the Heater intalled below the Roof.

i will try to route the Heater hose in another way an lower the Heater Cover because like i say before, i guess there is an Air pocket in the Coolant system.

ok, here are a few pictures of my cab

I use the original Jinma Canopy for the Roof and all around laminated Glass, the Cab self it is made of 60*30*3mm, 40*30*3mm square tube and a few meters of 30*5mm and 25*3mm flat steel and steel sheet, Door and Rear Window are made of 30*20*2mm square tube
and here is one picture of the Heater

Nuno....Really nice job on your cab build.

I think your heater problem may be due to the heater being outside the cab. I think you are losing a lot of heat outside. Mine is inside and is higher than yours and I have no problem with it. It's to the left of the instrument panel.

Nuno awsome job on the cab It sure looks like it belongs on that tractor. I should have recessed my glass like you did. I glued mine to the outside of the frame. I think it will be strong enough but It would be more protected if it was done like yours. Did you paint the whole machine or just the cab?
I can't see you having problems with the heater due to it being mounted too high. I figured you had it mounted up by the roof.

well here are a few updated pictures of my cab build. It is hard to see but the front glass is all installed and 3 of the 4 rear corners are in. I still need to get the last corner and the lower side near the brake pedals glued in then the basic cab will be complete minus wiring and heat. I still need to clean up and paint the windows and doors. I also need to order the glass for the door.

Hey Guys

thank you,

@herringchoker
you are maybe right and the outside installation place maybe is suboptimal for the Heater,
and thank you for sharing the Picture of your Heater, this and all other informations i can get about Cab Heaters can be very helpful for me.

@Rob
your Cab looks very fine and well finished.
I'm curious to see how it looks whe you finish the project
i am not sure if i have understand it right but, have you glue your glass outside of the Cabframe or have you make an frame like this ?

i weld pieces of 30*5mm of flat steel into the Window oppenings, 10mm from outside so that i have enough space for 6mm laminated Glass plus the Glue.
At first i was thinking to do the Glass job by myself but then i found an Glass shop that do the whole job (Glass, cutting the Glass and mounting) for 380 Euro/495 USD. for German conditions this is an absolutely dumping price.

I paint the whole Machine because i was thinking to paint it with Green paint since i purchase the Tractor and now it was a good moment to do this Job.
before it was paint in red and you can see the old color inside the left fender.
The fender will be covered inside with black PU-Body Protection soon.

WOW! That's an incredible job. How long have you been doing metal work? You should give Curtis some tips on how to build a cab. That really is beautiful. You've got me thinking about doing one for my B26. Do you have any pictures of it, as you were building it? If so, I would really like to see them. Can I ask you approx. what it cost in materials?

Looks great. You are way farther along then I am. I have the windshield frame and roof done. Haven't even started on doors or windows yes. I made my roof out of 1/8" Aluminum Diamond plate that I had bend into a tray. Looks great and is strong. Hoping by fall to finish mine.
