That was one of mine. Cheap company. All I had was a MAPP gas torch and a box of brazing rod.

Refresh my memory, wasn't it determined that the splice plates on the cross bracing intersections were too small / thin? Something like 3/8-inch thick where they should have been 3/4-inch thick?

I don't remember the details. I just remember "design flaw". In otherwords is wasn't the workmen's fault. It was the engineer.

Does anyone have a good URL or link to a website that has a table for standard material sizes?

I have a project that needs a few pieces made up and I'd like to sound half way intelligent when I place my order. I'm going to use my CAD program to show the layout and dimensions, but I'd like to be giving material dimensions that are standard sizes.

I noticed the look difference with 6013 vs 6011 as well.

At first when I started using 6011 on my lincoln welder, the welds were really crappy looking, but after a few days of welding I was laying nice strong welds with 6011.

Thought I was gonna use 6013 all the time after the bad welds with 6011. But now am confident welding strong and good looking welds with 6011.
