Tires YM 155D

Good evening All, Could someone please tell me the Correct tires for My Orig Wheels on my 79 155D?, The orig turfs are still on the back ,,Rottin!, I want to know correct Diameters so I dont Strain the 4whl drive unit, Thankyou, I have some 12" car tires on the front now, Any help? Thanx Jr

With my Yanmar 169D it has 6/12's up front (R1 Ag tires) and 8/16's on the back (R1's also). They have an overall diameter of 31.1". if i recall the 169 and 155 had similar if not the same tires. 8/16's would refer to 8" wide and 16" rims, you likely have 16" rims that are 10.5" wide. So I would look into 30x10.5 R3 turf tires.

Ok, I measured the Rears, they were 31" Dia ( Orig Tires ), The orig owner finally had to repalce the orig turf fronts, He put on 1-155/12 on one side, and 1-165/12 on the other, and put in tubes, if i go New,,Whats the correct Front Diameter tire to match my Orig Rears, so it all works Super with the 4whd :thumbsup: ?, Waiting to hear from you!!!, Thanx Jr, Oregon

Oh, the tires on the front are off a car, Thats why I was concerned about the Correct Diameter for the front, YM155D, Green/Black,White Grille, Jr

As far as the front tires go, mine are 6/12's. 155/165 I am assuming would me millimeters, They have to do with the depth of the tire. Check out this link, It converts millimeters to inches. Convert MM To Inches Conversion Tool I would look into getting another 1-155/12 or a 6/12 front tire to get the 4wd ratio back on track. With a 165 and a 155 on the front I would be uneasy using your 4wd because it will put a lot of stress on the components to one side which increases the risk of damage or failure.Sorry to get back to you so late, been pretty busy lately. :confused2: Happy to help though.

I can do my best. It will be difficult though because you need the measurement from the middle of the tire, the outside would only give you a ball park figure.

Hi Jack Jr,
I have a YM155D with a spare set of diamond turf tires mounted on extra rims. I usually keep the R1's on since the tractor is light enough. The diamond turf tires/wheels are spare. If you're interested, I may be interested in selling them. I'm in the Rochester, NY area.

I just measured the circumference and came up with the following:
front - 6x12* diamond tread circumference = 69.5"
rear - 8x16 diamond tread circumference = 99.5"
This is without the tire compressed. I think it's important for the fronts to lead the rears by about 2-5%.

*note Yanmar recommends 6x12 fronts for diamond turf and 5x12 for front ag tires.
