PULLING

To bad you don't have snow. You can skid your logs right to the shed or the landing and keep them clean.

Cool picture!!!! Love your chains!!! Hate cutting wood in the snow!!!

For pulling I use a 20 foot long chain. I back my tractor up as close as I can get to the log,put it in 3-HI and let her fly. Oh I also lock the rear diff too. Even with the FEL on it sometime it will lift the front a few feet. Thats what makes it fun!!! I dont pull from the 3 point though.

Interesting. How do you get enough leverage to lift the front when pulling from the fixed drawbar???

That's interesting - I always prefered cutting in the snow. No skeeters, no mud, the chaps don't make me sweat buckets and the woods filled with snow has a nice way of muffling the harsh note of the saw ...

I log in the mountains........ on my 100+ acre farm there is nary a flat spot.

I try to be done logging by the time snow flies, for this reason. Traction.

 I'm in hill land (probably would be called, "mountains," somewhere else) and sideways is no way to pull logs.

Not really sure. It just..does it. Thats why I dont pull off the three point becouse she really stands up then. I dont think pulling off the drawbar matters because my brother used to pull the sled at the tractor pulls with our Oliver 77 and that thing would just about stand on end lol.
