The T-bolt type clamps have a tremendous advantage.

I could not find T-bolt clamps that would wrap around a 1.25 inch hose, well I found one on ebay...didnt want to wait...

Two "D" rings actually, one started bending so I added an extra, I like the idea of an eyebolt, I never would have thought of it

Eyebolt came with the pump.

That silver colored threaded thing screwed onto the reaction bar looks like a grade 2 eyebolt that has been spread open and now looks like a hook. I've seen that happen before.

You are right Bob, that was an eyebolt that has opened up to a hook, thanks for pointing it out. I'll have to fix that today, stores are closed so I will have to get creative, I'll take it off, make it an eye again and weld it shut, is all that comes to mind right now.

The weld should work for now John, but I would get a forged eyebolt at your earliest convenience, they aren't expensive. There might be a store near you.

LOL, No store near me I live in BFE

To get one sounds like good advice, I'll have to wait till I go to a big city, like Paducah (KY)

I got a 2.5 hours of digging in today, no sign of foaming. Didn't have the power I would want, ran RPMs about 800 then upped them to 1,000.

The power appears most weak when I am digging 4-5 feet deep, but I think it is the earth here. I have no top soil, its all clay and I am thinking that the clay is harder down that deep.

Glad to hear it's working now. Clay can be pretty dense especially if it's that grey colored caliche. It's like concrete. Water it down and let it sit for awhile. You can also dump some lime in there and water it down for better results. There is no easy way to excavate caliche except for a jack hammer or dynamite. Or a much bigger machine.

Its a tan or light brown, this whole area used to be an inland sea, Southern Illinois. Some had hardened in the bucket while I was doing this repair, took an impact hammer to get it out. I like the dynamite and the much bigger idea, but I am "in for a penny" now with the LW-7.

John...this thread has been really informative. You mentioned perhaps a lack of power at times (deeper depth). A pressure gage somewhere on the pump output loop will tell you at a glance if you're getting the full pressure and, hence, digging force.

One time I sensed a loss of power and noticed I was only getting around 1,000 psi. Then it went away and I attributed that to the pressure relief valve having something momentarily preventing it from sealing or maybe the valve was sticking.

Anyway, having such a gage in a visible location is worthwhile.
