BX25 3PT Modifications?

Thanks Eagle. One difference I see is you use yours with a Pat's quick hitch which probably adds 3" to where the implement sits relative to the tractor. I do think without that the current Hydraulink would be too long for sure. If I knew they were going to offer a shorter version, I'd wait for it, but it looks like I'll probably add a 2 spool valve that hooks into the BH ports. Oh, love that grader blade by the way.

In the Hydraulink thread (in Attachments forum) the rep from the company told us they were working on a shorter top link for SCUT owners that would be pretty much the length of our OEM link. However, they have never come back and updated us on how the prototype went and whether it would be offered along with the larger ones. I'm going to see if I can contact someone at Hydraulink and see what I can find out. I'll update y'all with what I hear.

I just took the BH off and installed the 3PT and QH. By the time I cleaned and lubricated all the moving parts and got them installed it was over 1 hr and a lot of geeing and hawing. I have to figure out a better way as I do this often because I use the BH a lot. I would like to keep the 3PT and QH together and install same as an implement . I really need to study this some more. The BX 25 configuration does not give much working room either. I now have the BH install/uninstall down pat, only takes a few minutes either way. Once on; the QH is a beeeze to hook and unhook implements.

For anyone who may be interested, I called Hydraulink to see what I could find out about the SCUT (shorter) version. I talked to a nice lady who told me that they are still working with the prototype and are meeting with the Manufacturing reps later this month. They still plan on producing one for sure, but at this point it is still a question of just when...

Welcome Sir, and good point about the QH! Without those, the 'Link would be too long... Jealous of the 2-spool valve, good on ya!

Maybe it's because I haven't used anything else, but that Grading Plane will flat clean up a gravel drive! Ours at the house was getting a bit "rutty", so I picked up a scoop of gravel and added it to one end of the drive, across the width of it. Set the Plane down, into 4-wheel grunt mode, and in 4 passes I had leveled the whole drive! Tweaked the crown and filled the ruts, kinda wishing it took longer, equates to less seat time!!

Ron I know nothing of QH's. What brand did you get may I ask? Got any
pics to show N tell ? As I believe I said prior, I threw on my 3PT hitch for
the first time a few days ago. I threw out the top cotter pins and
changed them to lynch pins to hopefully facilitate a quick change out
when I go back to the BH. I too am looking at this set-up...

Oh, the idea of throwing away the "Stopper Pin and its "Hair Pin" and
either tapping in a thread, or I think I perfer welding on a nut so you can
simply unscrew a bolt or screw down a bolt for ease of installation
and removal. (Welding a nut onto the CheckChain bracket)

See the 3pt instructions to see names of parts if necessary.

Artisan,

I bought a QH from HF, $72 on sale. Had to do some modifications though as their engineeerin on this one is faulty. I am sure the chineese company just made it he way they recieved the design. I took some pictures today; will convert to PDF and annotate what I had to do. Not bad if you are handy and have welding equipment and skills. Still saved from $100-300 depending on the brand you look at and what comes with it. I'll try to get it done tomorrow as today; using my tiller, broke two more of those 5/16 check chain clevises. WILCO doesn't stock them so will try another place tomorrow. I had the chains tight but still broke, those who like their chains loose must go through a bunch of them. This running around for a two bit part gets old fast. I have to go to Bremerton to get some steel and welding rod and another farm store is on the way. I hope someone from Messicks picks up on this and relays this flawed piece of engineering to KUBOTA. While in Bremerto I will check on some 1/2" long turnbuckles with clevis ends. I have an idea on a fix.

Say, aren't you a plumber? Are you a UA member? I am a retired UA Steamfitter.

Thanks for the update. Almost hard to believe they're still working on it. From my simple mind, it's just a shorter version of what they already have so I don't really understand what's taking so long. It's also hard to take them at their word at this point given they just disappeared from TBN months and months ago with no explanation. On the other hand, the existing Hydraulink is still being sold (checked on that) so I did assume they're still in business.

Seems this thread got a little far afield, but just to finish up my comments on adding a hydraulic top link, I pulled the trigger today on a Prince dual-spool valve with, hopefully, all the fittings and adapters I'll need to add dual rear remotes to my BX25. I plan to plum it into the BH power-beyond loop to run the hydraulic top link I made up when I had the old BX1860 with the dual rear remote kit (which is not available for BX25). I will start a thread probably in the Hydraulics forum once the project begins. I will need to make up a mounting bracket that will attach to the ROPS and then measure and order hoses, so it will be a while before it's functional. Chow.

Oh, mostly for Artisan, my long run plans are to add the Thumb grapple to my FEL bucket and power it from the rear remotes with loooong hoses. Not the ideal solution, but this approach will let me use my old hydraulic top link to start.
