I would do exactly that i would draind the good tractor tranny into a clean fluid bucket, then draind the dirty tractor into a drain container. Fill that old with the news "old" fluid then put brand new fluid into the good 2210.

Thanks for all the advice.

what was the starting issue? did it need a starter?

no the starter is good, the ignition switch is bad so i jumped it directly at the starter.

I found some cheap tran/hydro fluid at tractor supply for $30 so i just put that in it. I just changed the fluid in my 2wd 2210 before this summer so I didnt want to mess with it.

Cleaning the screen and changing fluid got it back in service, goes into gear easy now.

Not sure if the 4wd it locking in or not? should I hear a click or how can I tell when its engaged, never owned a 4wd before. Going to drain and replace that gear oil tomorrow, is it just 90w?

All PTO gears seem to work, haven't hook anything up to test it yet though.

The 3 point still doesn't work, it does nothing at all, where do i start troubleshooting that? The valve under the seat it rusted so I can'T turn it, not sure if its open or closed, I sprayed pb blaster on it and hope I can break it free tomorrow.

All in all im pleased, I took my heat gun and got readings all over the engine and the hottest it got was 150 degrees, but I have not put a load on it yet.

here is a pic of the the screen, I had to use carb cleaner to break this crud loose.

Sounds like you are making some headway. That hydro screen looks awful, I am sure your hydraulics are flowing much better now. As far as the 3 point, it could very well be the valve under the seat. That will let the fluid just bypass the 3 point which is fine and dandy if the tractor is pulling a cart all the time but not if you always use the 3 point hitch. On the other hand the O-ring inside the lift cylinder for your 3 point hitch could be badly damaged due to crud in the hydraulic fluid which would also let the hydro fluid pass by the piston. My bets are on the valve though. :)

Jack one front wheel up, lock 4 wheel drive, tractor in gear, if the jacked up wheel is locked your 4 wheel drive is working.

I would very carefully crack the pump discharge line where it goes into the lift control valve making sure your pump is not air locked. You will know definitely whether you are getting flow or not. Of course this is with the tractor idling.

After totally dissasembling my three points there super simple. I know the 2210 is different with a side vavle but you will figure it out. I bet that hydro fluid was not changed since that tractor was in america, probly since it was in Japan! I had not cleaned my screen the first time i changed my fluid, but i ran it for 2.5 years and it looked basically new, just a bit of crud, thats plain awful!!

Yea front is 90wt. I would use 80w-90. If it leaks i would use something a bit heavier till you fix that or forever if you choose not to fix.

Just looked at the big pic of that screen. There appears to be a good bit of rust in there, i think you may have had water in that thing. I would run that fluid for a few hours then dump and refil on the cheap fluid again!! Id run it like 5 hours or so then dump. You may have some pitting on the gears but if not terrible should not hurt anything, esp for the price you got it for.

Winston1 was spot on, cracking the line into the 3 point pump worked, it had air in it and some nasty white goo ran out for a bit before clean fluid showed up. I haven't attached a implement but the lever raises and lowers the hitch now.

There was definitely water in it, it was like gel on the screen.

I do notice it smokes a bit very faintly out the muffler and crankcase breather tube, but maybe thats because it hasn't ran in 3 years?

hoping it clears, the smoke color is faint white

I think after some more fixing up, I will sell this one. I wasn't really looking for another but after riding by it daily and seeing it sit in that field I figured why not.

Keep the 4WD one and transplant the loader onto it. use all the good sheetmetal etc off the 2WD and switch it over then sell the 2WD. you will have the 4WD,loader and Powershift..... now your talking

Glad she is is up and running! Yeah sitting is hard on engines run it easy dont load it too much for awhile and it will clear out most likely and get the rings gripping again and seals lubed up.

You have to remember the muffler etc will have bugs and leaves and rust and other stuff built up and can cause smoke etc and when shes real warm that will start breaking loose probably see things flying out the pipe even fwtw.
