2005 ford 6.0 diesal problems

How about deleting the vehicle instead of the egr valve!
Unbelievable JUNK!
Why you guys bother screwing with this junk is beyond me. Manufacturers warranty or extended your paying for it again and again and again.....:confused3:
And then there's NO RESALE value.
Sounds like YOU"RE doing FORD's BAILOUT all by yourselves:eek:

You have to write down all the scenarios and pick your poison with Ford diesels:
1. Keep it and let warranty expire, then live with a good chance engine will grenade prematurely.
2. Keep it and extend warranty for $3,000-$4,000 and be covered for a few extra years when the engine does grenade prematurely.
3. Trade it, be insulted with trade-in value, and go back into debt for the 6th version of the Ford diesel and take a chance with urea and who knows what problems.

Problem is, Dodge & GM took bailout money, which goes against my fundamental beliefs.
So I'm left with Ford, who is "clean" because they took no bailout money, but can't build a reliable diesel to save its' life, like GM & Dodge.

So I'm stuck with an unreliable Ford (again). First the 6L, now the 6.4L, and it looks like I'm a 6.7L victim waiting to happen.
Sheesh.....

Well mines an 07 and it has all the problems, LOL.
And for Coyote Machine......why some of us screw with this junk.....because after what we paid to buy it in the first place it is hard to give it away for nothing. And after replacing half the engine I keep thinking someday it will be done. But now when my Ford dealer tells me it will never end......maybe time to cut the losses.I love the truck and if I knew what I was going to end up spending on it to keep it running, I could have paid for the Cummins swap by now. Then I'd just have crappy fuel mileage, but at least it would run daily.

Ain't it amazing after you pay $55,000 for a new truck and after just a few years you're at the point where the Ford service writer is on your "favorites" on the cell phone, you're bringing him donuts, coffee, you know his wife & kid's names and you sometimes feel obligated to slip him $20 to push through some warranty stuff?
Then the diesel mechanic in the back tells you "dump this thing as soon as you can", "make sure you extend the warranty", etc.???
It almost seems like some kind of crazy, sad nightmare. lol

And all this is why my truck is 15 years old.

If some one were to spend half the monthly payments of a new truck working on and fixing their old one just imagine what they'd have! You could pull the gates of h*ll clean from their hinges and get better mpg doing so.

Where did the bailout money come from in the end? You and me and everyone else who pays taxes etc. in this country! Wow, I hate it too that this was the 'solution' to the auto industry woes. But I wouldn't want to add salt to my wounds just because Ford didn't take $. Sounds like they'll never have to since their taking all of yours and our government is taking the rest, eh?
In the meantime any of you Ford guys deserve a break. (I have a close friend who has one of the diesels and I lent him $1000 to help him get it back on the road so he could keep his farm going, etc.)
I seriously cannot believe so much stuff can go bad on ANY vehicle no matter who makes it! Its just CRAZY and I agree FORD ought to FIX all the broken down expensive as heck diesels they foisted off on you folks.
It would be one thing if one could fix it and done, but you have to fix it 'till either you or it bites the bullet!?

INSANE! There should be a law against such BS! In fact there are 5/50 federal admissions laws that pertain to all emissions components; but I forgot you guys try to drive off into the sunset by putting a billion miles on these things...what's the actual cost per mile when you add up $4000+ repairs and down time, etc. ? I'm guessing like $25/mile when you're all done! YIKES!!!

Good luck- next time buy the Cummins diesel- even with poor fuel mileage you probably save a million or so in the long haul...

Don't forget that GM got money from Canada too. What is really disgusting is what they did with their bailout money, and they are headed for bankruptcy again.

I don't understand why everyone is saying the Cummings has such poor fuel mileage. I had a 2010 that got 15/17 around town and 19/21 highway and I did hand calculate those mileages. I now have a 2012 ram 2500 with the 6 speed manual. It has 6,000 miles on it and is getting 14.5/15.5 around town and 17/19 highway. The 08 f350 I had with the 6.4 got 14 mpg highway on it's best day. So I guess I just don't see the "poor fuel mileage" out of the Cummings. Oh and by the way I pulled 10,000 lbs with the 2012 ram and got 13.5/14.5 on a 1,000 mile trip.

That CUMMINGS should have got 0 mpg. That's all I've ever seen one get.
