I have both on my B3200 and can change them out in under 5 minutes. Neither is a replacement for the other. The Piranha stays on the loader over 95% of the time and if I could only have on it would be the Piranha.
Used mine quite a bit in rocky Arkansas soil. If and when it wears down in 10 years I would happily buy another. Both styles of tooth bar have there good and bad points. For mostly dirt work, sapling/brush clearing and grading work I think the Piranha is better. If digging a bunch in larger rocks the larger longer replaceable teeth would be better.
We totally agree!
And so as not to hijack DragonEggs' thread I have to say this (and I only ever say it once per person) "TOLD YOU SO!!!"
I'm really glad you had the same experience with it that we did.
My install was a little harder due to having already bowed the cutting edge of our bucket into a mild smiley face while using it to dig and move large rocks (obviously pre-PTB).
The PTB actually brought our cutting edge back to straight, AND now protects it. The shape our bucket was in demonstrates how we hard use it.
We have really used our PTB strenuously, and have barely worn the paint off, much less worn the teeth down. Plus the toothbar profile on the PTB spreads the wear vs. individual teeth that can catch and break off.
As Mr. ParkGT said, if in 10 years we have worn the teeth down, A) I'll be very surprised, and B) I'll gladly send off for a new one.
Thanks,
Thomas
