JMO...if this was just a radiator issue it seems like it would take more than 15 minutes to overheat...

Hang in there Uncle Levi...we're all pulling for you and yours...

He posted today with some far fetched idea that the 2010 and 2020 engines were the same or very similar. So very far from the truth.
Then he sends me some hissy message saying I should remove my 2:30pM post. After I corrected somebody about the closed center variable displacement front pump they thought was closed circuit with a relief valve.

I'm waiting for him to "have some fun" with the professionals that have posted in the thread about "tape or paste" when plumbing hydraulic fittings...

Well, that was me that misspoke and I do know the terms, but I was listening to 'Science Friday' on the radio as I wrote & that's gotta be how I got the word circuit in there when I did mean center.

Tho' I'm fairly well versed in hydraulic terminology, and not knowing otherwise of Deere's setup, I did imagine an 'unloader'* as their way to manage flow. (*think of a high volume relief valve that can 'dump' full pump output as needed ..) That was my turn to be far-fetched, but then IMO hydraulics are closed circuit (sorta like electronics) vs say total loss lubing (old HD primary chains) or the one-shot oilers on our milling machines, grinders, etc. (Freudian slip then?)

Larry's ok, really. Got a belly-full of another member and IMO has done well to spare us the burden of his displeasure. We all have our moments & mine are usually either spacey or naive. :ashamed: Hide them well by taking 1/2 hr or more to edit a mere few lines, don't I? (ok 40 min this time to be PC ..)

I can't help with the overheating, but I can help your wife. I will pray for her.

My guess is that spyderlk dude is a troll.. he was sending me messages as well..hence my post on my skills etc. Bottom line..end goal.. is to help our fellow farmer out and save the tractor..remove the stress and keep good vibes going to his missus

Post 48 made no reference, and didnt address anything posted recently or nearby in the thread so I thot it was a response to another thread mistakenly posted here. Not true I suppose?

...Also, I have a 1962 2010 gas. The OP has a 1969 2020 gas. They are adjacent models. Below is what I said. I have emphasized an area that may aid your interpretation:
OK. Now were getting somewhere. ... Unfortunately theres no development history we can access. I have a 2010 Gas so maybe it models yours closely. Why dont we experiment? :

,,,,Drain your coolant and save it.
,,,,Fill with water, but a little low. Cover the core about 1/2"
,,,,Cap it and start it up. Squeeze the top radiator hose and blip the throttle a few times from lo idle using the carb linkage. Does the coolant pressurize immediately and increase as you blip repeatedly?
,,,,Before it heats, remove the cap and look in while you play with rpm. Is the fluid flowing noticeably? Is it bubbling?
,,,,Continue as it warms toward midrange. Does it exhibit flow now? Does any bubbling stop or get worse?
,,,,Stop the engine. What happens?
,,,,When whatever stops, put the cap ON and start the engine. Blip for ~ 15 sec.
,,,,Stop and loosen the radiator cap with a rag. Was there any significant pressure buildup or barely a spit?

... These should tell us something in the course of just a few minutes. :confused3:

The 2020 replaced the 2010 but the only similarity is rubber tires and green paint.
The closed center system limits pressure by taking the pump out of stroke.

Yeah. It is hydraulics.Total disconnect w/o some introduction.
And while it could contrbute, the power loss from malfunction would be noted. It doesnt fit well with an engine heating problem so acute as the OP relates.

Just wondering what else is Jerry Rigged on the tractor if a pto hydraulic pump is used for the loader.
There is also the off chance that the pto pump and loader is using the transmission sump as the reservoir. That could dump heat into the front oil cooler.
There is something about this "overheating" that is being missed.
