BTW, send your parents to VA. I need to put down about 10 bales when I reseed in a couple weeks. ;)

Thanks for the advice guys. I think I am going to go with 10' doors after all. The cost now will not be that much more, and definitely less expensive that updating later.

If you pay for gas and for their stays at campgrounds along the way, I'm sure they would do it! :) They are great folks and will help out anyone!

Think in the long run you will be please to have the option with taller equipment...

Great build... wish it was mine.

Well, looks like I am going with 10' tall doors on the 'short' side. Talked with the builder and he sees no issue, so let it be done! A bit more cost now to keep my options open in the future. Bad thing is, that's 2' higher I have to go to hang and wire the lights!

PS: I HATE heights!

You will be glad that you went with the taller door! Can't wait to see the finished product.

I think so. It had been weighing on my mind a bit lately, and it's like a load is off now that I made the choice. Anything I can unload off my mind right now is a huge plus! :)

After over a month, I figure it is time for an update. The inside is essentially finished with the exception of cabinets, plumbing, and a few finishing touches. Here are a few pics.

A pic of the garage before trusses. I did go with 10' tall doors on the lower side. Originally, I was going to go with the left side of the building being taller than the right side, but after talking with the contractor, I decided to keep the same height all across rather than a step in the roof.

Looking good. Won't be much longer until you will be living in there.

That's a very nice garage too.

Curious why you are going with metal on the walls when you have all those nice studs there? OSB, house wrap and a variety of siding options are available with studs.

Fordman- Late to the thread but good move on the door height. My 4720 just makes it at 8'. If I ever put chains on it-new ball game!

Looking good!
