The true answer is he is an argumentative poster, always choosing be a devils advocate. I'm sure he has ended up on many other members ignore list. If you want to waste your time go through his post history.

Truth, eh? Sorry for discussing facts; and I'm not arguing with anyone here, just defending my right to speak my mind, as you are, telling us what truth is- HA!:confused2: You know nothing about me, and if you don't want to read what I post by all means don't - your choice.

Let me try to explain: Your self-righteousness offends a lot of people. Of course accidents are preventable. That's not the point. This is not the time or place to insult someone, saying they don't have "the bare minimum of common sense" after they've had a serious life-threatening accident. That is offensive. In addition you wish ("should get" -how else to read?) that other are injured, killed or maimed. That too is offensive. Let me quote you again:

See above quoted section of post...

"Have you no sense of decency?"

Spare me the explanation of what your opinion is about what I said. You and the others posting about half wits and other derogatory comments are the ones who need to get a grip. Stating facts is not an insult to anyone, and I didn't cite the OP as not having any common sense, if anything he has common sense, he just didn't exercise it in this situation; as he stated he was tired and that likely tipped the scale toward the outcome = serious injury. There's no blaming him for what occurred, it isn't about fault either, but there is responsibility to be taken by the OP for his actions. His posting his errors of judgement is accomplishing that and more, as a benefit to others who might think twice before putting themselves in jeopardy of serious injury.
BTW, once again I didn't 'wish' anything on anyone. I said those who disconnect... safety devices should get what they deserve....and hopefully not end up hurting innocent bystanders....
Meaning, if one purposefully increases risks to their safety, then they shouldn't be surprised when things go bad and they get hurt. This does not apply to the OP, since he did nothing to defeat any safety devices.

I really appreciate everyone support and understanding. It does help a lot.
As far as coyote machines views I'm not going to take too much offense because I did know better. Everyone's free to there opinion & views and nothing will change that.

This also is a good example getting complacent about it happening to you and how fast things can go wrong.
Only 2 hrs before noticed my 85 yo neighbor up the street trying to get his severely leaning Massey 250 out of a large hole with his truck by himself. It took me about a hour and a another neighbor w/ ford 5000 to get it out. I was thinking how lucky he was it didn't roll on him. He thought the hole was up 5 feet further.
Or last year next door neighbor with ford 6000 getting pinned between tree limb & ROPS in pasture while bushoging. " I've never seen him use seat belt". Before he knew it, tree branch pulled him back in seat against rops to where he couldn't reach clutch or shifter. Behind was a spinning 7' bush hog. Almost tore canopy off before he was able to free himself.
Several years ago someone I knew was getting down off stopped tractor on flat ground, slipped, fell broke his neck & died right there.

Thanks for the taking the high road Gary and being big enough to honestly tell us what happened. Most folks wouldn't be nearly so selfless!

To the OP. I meant no offence to you, in particular, or anyone else for that matter. If you found anything I wrote offensive, I apologize for that. I know you must be hurting, and your recovery will be a long and strenuous ordeal. I wish you the best of luck in having a speedy recovery, and thanks for candidly sharing your experience.

CM out.

Gary-glad you're still here with us. Dealing with the pain isn't going to be much fun but it sure beats the alternative! I can't imagine the thoughts that must have run through your mind during or just after the accident and I'll bet seeing your family in the hospital was never sweeter. Best wishes to you and may God bless you during your recovery.
