I am not saying they do not work. Just the snowblowers I have used always seemed underpowered. Maybe they are too much for garden tractors.
The old garden tractors worked well with 48" blowers . Here's my old 16hp simplicity hydro last year

Koja, the hydro and 16hp would help. My old Simplicitys are only 10hp and gear driven.

84" with pto 100hp. Used to have 115 pto hp but a fast reverse gear. Looking forward to some big snow this year. Mine is a double auger also. Someone mentioned they run a similar blower on 30 something hp. Wow I would have never thought that would do much.

I am not sure if this is sized right as I just got it new this summer. The tractor is a Kubota B2920 HST (21 PTO HP) with a FEL and the blower is a Pronovost Puma 72.
The dealer sized it as said that the 2920 will handle it and told me to try it for the first couple storms. If I am not happy I can have the next size down (Puma-64) no questions asked.

I thought it was large for the tractor at the time and just put it on the other day and still think it is large but I have been surprised at how much heart this little unit has.

64" on a B3300. Can't have any less blower and still cover the tracks and certainly wouldn't want any wider or I'd be underpowered

Al, although I am not crazy about hydros usually, I can see that they are the perfect transmission for snow blowing. After reading this thread, I am thinking that tractors are running larger snow blowers in part due to better hydro transmissions.

Don't know, it does sound like a lot of blower for the HP. Let us know how it works out please.

It seems that way. Having the ability to adjust travel speed and creep in a deep drift would make a difference compared to one speed gears.

It is hard to say that the sales/owner follow can't size the equipment when he has been selling tractors for decades. If I don't like this blower he will put the 64 on it. Hard to loose with this deal.
He did want to put the Puma blower on it and not the Kubota blower. I thought everything would be orange but he said the puma blower is a better blower but would put the orange one on if I wanted for the same package price.
This sales /owner person did not sell me a gear unit and also put me into the largest HP for that size tractor I was wanting. With the saying " it is better looking at the extra HP it than looking for it when pushing the unit".
