Does the f250 Super Duty make the f350 obsolete?

F250 still have their place. I'd buy a 6.2 gasser to get a long bed extended or crew cab and a solid front axle.

Don't need the extra of the 350.

I looked into the 6.2 until I found out it has 16 spark plugs.

Still cheaper than diesel. Up until recently the 5.7 hemi had dual plugs too.
And the plugs on the Hemi need to be changed every 30K miles.

To me the F350 SRW is a no brainier. It's only a $600 option over a comparable F250.

This is the other reason that got me thinking why have both when the cost is nearly the same as is the body, bed, powerplant...

How much better can the brakes and axles be for $600?

Now if the real difference is springs... $600 would cover beefier ones.

It may have changed but the big difference between the 250 and 350 was 2 things:
1. 350 had a 4" riser block on the rear axle vs 2" on the 250
2. The weight rating on the door sticker

Now there are a million different setups of these trucks with all kinds of various spring packages, etc, but the real difference is one you have heard several here say: the ratings. That is a double-edged sword as it affects both what you can tow, as well as places you can/can't go (and often your taxes). You cross that 10k threshold, and it hurts some applications. We have a short section of freeway here where it is 9k max GVWR on it. Can't even drive my 250 on it as it is 9400 GVWR. Those are the main reasons for the different models. Otherwise they are identical.

Not on the 6.4 hemi.I owned a 2011 F250 super crew and could not stand they way the rear end sagged when I hooked up my trailer.

One mile from me we have a similar 9k max freeway with the only exception being buses...

However the Highway Patrol will not cite "Pickups"

They can and do cite the same pickup with duals, a service body or stake flatbed.... very subjective.
